I'm new here and am searching for a water pump for my D1105-T engine. I got the engine from a Toro ride on mower without the water pump. I have found out there are two different size water pumps for the D1105 series. Not the impeller size but the pump housing size. Anyone know where I can find the "smaller" size pump?
I've been working on this for 2 days. I know the 16241-73034 and 16251-73034 water pumps don't work and the middle bolt hole spacing is too large by 1/16"-1/8" and the impeller hits the back of the housing. Through my research there was a change at engine serial number D1105-t-1W0006 to use the larger (current) water pumps. My engine is a 1U26XX serial number, so smaller water pump. A change in the 2001 year.
The catch is the engine is not the original mower engine so the Toro serial number doesn't do me any good. I've been on the phone with Toro and a bunch of dealers using the engine serial number and have been striking out. I have an email into Kubota but not holding my breath.

Do you know from what machine the engine was sourced?

It looks like Toro still supports it so perhaps they can help you with the pump.

I remember seeing parts diagrams by Kubota engine model on the internet couple years ago.

I think it was the Kubota website but can’t swear to it.

I appreciate the link. Unfortunately this engine is not the original one that came with the mower. The mower is a 2007. This engine is a 2001. Another give away is all groundsmaster 3500d have an oil fill in front of the injector pump. My engine doesn't have that. When I ordered the water pump per the mower serial number it doesn't fit the engine. I know someone out there knows about the 2 different front covers and has a part number for the "smaller" water pump.

Have you looked at 16251-73032? The Kubota B2400 used a D1105 with this part number and was produced 1995-1999. The later B2401 also used that series engine. Here's a picture from Messick's, if that helps.

Get all the numbers from the engine tag and call a Kubota Industrial Engine dealer. There are variations that a Kubota products dealer can not see or order.

I've called 3 and all are locked out of the serial number I have. I called Toro and it was a failure on their end when I asked them to run the engine serial number.

what I've said a bunch of times

Not all of Kubota's engines are identical....A D1105 has many variants, as you are finding out.

And yours is not the original engine apparently, which adds even more complexity to your issues.

So, it is a Toro engine?
I'm pretty sure it is. It is Vin locked and I know Toro does that. I do want to confirm it is Toro but when I called Toro and ask them to look up the engine serial number the person on the phone had never done that before and pretty much refused to even try and kept asking me for a model serial number. I don't understand why it's so hard to enter D1105-T-1U26XX into their system.

It's been very challenging finding this water pump. That's why I signed up here. Seeing if someone has been through this and they know the part number for the "smaller" water pump.
I've asked on Facebook and been looking at many listings of equipment that have a D1105 engine looking to see if it has the smaller water pump housing and trying to find a serial number to cross reference and still striking out.

This may be some help? There are 4 pumps listed there with different part numbers. Maybe contact them and try to get actual pictures/measurements.

Also, I take care of a Toro 3500-d at work. I believe it is a 2010, I’ll have to check tomorrow. Feel free to PM me, I’ll help anyway I can.

I've called them, Coleman, Country Sales and they didn't really show any interest once they got locked out of the serial number.

Through more research I found a water pump part number for a Carrier refrigerator unit that uses a D1105. If this doesn't work I'll order a 60mm pump and just make it work.

One thing I noticed on my D1105-T that's different from the 3 V1505s i have is the D1105 has AISIN cast on the front gear cover above where the crankshaft comes out. The 1505s dont have that and one is a mid 2001 build. Also the engine isn't Kubota blue. It's more a grey color.
Still waiting on the water pump for the carrier variant. Hopefully it comes this week and fits.

Good news to report. The water pump for the Carrier D1105 variant arrived and it fit. Bolt holes and housing size are spot on. I haven't tested it yet though. The part number that fit my engine is Carrier 29-70183-00 and I'll refer to it as the smaller bolt pattern pump.
There are 2 different sizes water pumps from what I discovered and why I posted this thread asking if anyone had info on them. The larger pump is 3-3/8" from center to center of middle bolt holes. The smaller pump is 3-5/16" from center to center of middle bolt holes. The other holes are different as well but tough to measure. There is a difference in impeller height as well.
