I have a JD 2320 and I am looking at a Kubota B2601. I wondering if someone could tell me how the two tractors compare in maintenance cost.

You would probably get an answer if you stated your existing maintenance cost of your JD 2320. Then, someone with a B2601 could state what their cost are. Very unlikely you'll find someone owning both models.

I'm sure they would be very close. One thing these tractor manufacturers are really good at is matching each others prices.

My dealer is JD/Kubota and oils and filters are all very close.

I have the 2650 and I just spent around $170 for the 50 hour service. $100 of that was for the hydraulic oil though, and all three filters.

My hydraulic pump has gone out and it will cost $7600 to replace it. If it can be repaired it will cost $3500.

Are you sure hydraulic pump and not HST pump?

If it is a Hydraulic pump, a Hydraulic pump for a B2601 is $897.90 New

If it is a HST unit, and HST Unit for a B2601 is $2896.00 New

Is that the JD2320 listed in your profile?

Guessing that's why your looking at comparative costs?

If so, go to http://www.colemanequip.com/ and it will give you an idea for similar supply/parts costs.

Sounds a little steep for a replacement pump, of any kind on a 2320, even though its green (and I like green)!!;)

My father used to say "paint it green and it costs more." I loved my little JD425 for many years. Parts were expensive, but orange ones aren't cheap either........Better thing is hoping they don't break by proper maintenance, proper use, and repairs when necessary so sumpin' big doesn't get hurt.....

I would be more apt to chase whether your $7,600 pump is really a good estimate. For that matter, a $3,500 rebuild sounds exorbitant, too. Christ - your bare tractor isn't worth much more than $7,600, depending on hours, etc. Did the dealer suggest a deal to "take it off your hands?"

I might be lookin' for a second opinion...........

Good luck, and welcome to the Orange!!

My apologies - didn't see the HST issue until after I posted that!

That is a tough/expensive one, for any manufacturer.

But, there are many issues that can be repaired, short of a HST replacement.

Like the old saying goes, start with the simple stuff...............

Best wishes.:)
