Would anyone know the difference between clutch case part number TA040-61550 and TA040-61510? It appears all the internal parts of the same.

Manufacturer and/or seller should know the answer better than anyone else. Rarely have I seen a seller stock two part #s when one can supersede the other. Stock sitting on shelf waiting to be sold is dead expense, twice as much stock sitting on shelf is twice the amount of dead expense.

One is about $900 and the other is about $300 so difference is about $600! Math humor = LOL

the $900 one fits these models

the $300 one fits these models

Since these fit the same models and cost is so different they must be used in the same tractor.

I am curious now so will look at where these are in your tractor and make another post if I find anything helpful.

Okay I think that it is the SAME part but depends on what serial number the tractor has

If tractor serial number is 54588 or less you need TA040-61510 for $922

If tractor serial number is 54589 or higher you need TA040-61510 for $356

Hope you win the serial number lottery!

The early GlideShifts had an issue with breaking the fingers at the snap ring groove. Kubota beefed up the later ones. I think -61550 is the improved version. I don't think -61510 is available.
But the L2900GST calls for a -61610 (KubotaUSA). Hopefully that's not what you need, don't even look up the price.
EDIT Messick's shows the -61610 for the larger models, and -61510/-61550 for the L2900.

You're going to have to provide more information, like exact model number your trying to fit the clutch into, including the serial number.

Thanks, unfortunately, I need the more expensive one.

Check with your local dealer to see if there is any type of assistance from Kubota since this is a manufacturing defect. Even if the answer is no, it doesn't cost anything to ask.

That model did not have the problem child clutch pack, but it does have an expensive and hard to locate pack.
The part number for the whole assembly:
TA040-61606
The part number for just the case:
TA040-61610

Thanks. That is what I’m seeing as well.
It’s list the tractor as needing the TA040-61510. No longer available.
