I just bought a 2008 5040 Gst is great condition. I have 477 hours on it. I used it for the first time for 2 hours. After that the gears started to chug and buck. The engine was solid and did not miss a beat. It seemed to be in the lower gears. Once i got to 10th gear it seem fine. I dont know where to start with trying to figure out my problem.

Has the transmission ever been serviced?
With almost 500 hrs on it the trans should have been serviced 2 time already. Once at 50 hrs and at least a filter change at either 350 or 450 hr mark depending on your tractors requirements.
