I have a L2850 with a LA650 loader. I want to check the hydraulic pressure is in-spec. My loader only has quick connects on 2 lines, I assume the source and return lines (not on every raise/lower/curl line like a modern loader).

Should I just pop one of the function lines and take the fitting to the Parker store and match the fitting to a hydraulic gauge and deadhead the function at full RPM to see the working pressure?

NO.... Well unless you want to blow the seals out of the pump.
You check pressure via the hydraulic block, the instructions are in the WSM.

Oh, I see. The loader doesn't have it's own relief valve? I can just check it via the procedure in the WSM?

If you can't find it just ask I have a L3450 which has the same hydraulic block.

One of the easiest was to test pressure is to remove one line going to a cylinder and put a tee on that with a gauge.

So just to confirm, because the picture in the WSM is a bit unclear:

I should unscrew that plug on the last picture and attach the pressure gauge there?

Maybe teeing a cylinder line would be easier... that plug is in there pretty tight and there's not a lot of clearance.

Also that plug is BSPT (not NPT) so you would have top get an BSPT to NPT adapter.

That's why I mention teeing a cylinder line, it is easier.
You can do it at the control and put a Quick disconnect on the tee and just leave it.

I teed the downward curl line (was the top line, so easiest to get to), throttled up to max and tried it. It definitely looks like it hit around 2300PSI before the needle stopped. It also held pressure, so I guess those cylinders aren't bypassing internally.

Thanks again for the advice, everything seems to check out fine!

Yep! Great way to test things, and the parts weren't *too* expensive (other than the tee itself, for some reason).
