Hi,

I'm looking to buy a new Kubota bx1870 with front loader and mower. I am Canadian and I was wondering if I would save much by buying from a US dealer. The only treads I could found on the subject on many forums where like 4-5 years old. Any of you guys from Canada did buy a new Kubota from a US dealer recently?
Now I know about the US warranty being invalid in Canada.

thanks!

Just wondering why you would want to do that Imroy? I would think you would still have to pay the import tax on them new or used

Taxes and Fees aside... Why would you want to buy an new tractor with no warranty?
There are too many things that could go wrong!;)

The reason is the major price difference. By saving 2000$ (after import fee and taxes), I would not worry about the warranty. I know from older posts on other forum that it was worth it some years back, my question is:
is it still the case?

Give us a price on a local tractor in your area (CA) , and maybe someone close to your area (US) can give you that price.
Or maybe just make some phone calls and get some dealer prices.
One problem that anything newer is going to run into is that whatever you import must meet or beat your emissions standards.

I think the exchange rate is just about dollar for dollar maybe a couple cents different. My self sounds like a bad plan, but that's just me

There was a posting on here just recently where someone wanted to buy a used tractor from Canada and have it shipped to the US and after a lenghty post it sounded like its more of a headache, hassle and all around pain in the ass then its really worth with the paper work and fees involved selling something over the boarder.

as far as i know:
the taxes you pay are none-refundable when you bring it into canada, but you'll have to pay canadian taxes at the border.
if the tractor was build in the usa, no duties
if it was imported into the usa, duties apply
