Hi all, how can a kubota mini excavator be pulled without the engine running. Bought a 2020 KX 033-4 recently and was wondering how I might be able to pull it where I want to store it if it becomes disabled on the property. Been through some of the operators manual on line but didn't notice anything about it.

Yes. Slowly. It doesn't clearly state if the engine needs to be running, but I wouldn't think so. The problem may be if the blade and boom have been lowered to the ground.

It's not easy or simple to move any excavator not under it's own power!

Final drive center gear removal. Be careful its free spinning after that.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I was hoping there was some type of pressure relief system like on my zero turn machine, where you turn a bolt on the pumps (they call them dunk valves I believe) about one turn and then can pull the machine. It did cross my mind about how to handle the situation if the bucket and or blade was on the ground.

You should watch the 'Highway thru Hell' episode where Al Quiring used THREE D9s to EVENTUALLY92 day,..) pull an excavator stuck in a peat bog. He ended up pulling the finals. Always wondered what it bill was for that 'simple pull'....

curious.. if you clamp the sticks into 'forward', would the tracks rotate, better ?

I assume they're talking about dragging it slowly, and for a short distance. Seems to me I now remember seeing something about dragging my skidsteer up the trailer ramps if need be. I had a JD 317 a while back, but I bought it new and never had to resort to that as it never failed to start.
