Can cat 2 pins be replaced with cat 1 pins?

A neighbor no longer has a tractor, and has offered his 48" tiller to me. But it has cat 2 pins.

Can those pins be swapped out and replaced with cat 1 pins?

Yep. Tractor Supply sells an assortment of pins, if you have one close by.

You can use bushings if you cannot find step-down pins.

You local tractor shop may have the step pins. IOWs, cat2 thread with cat1 shank.
