Hello from Stilwell kansas, I have 3 flatfish acres with maybe a 15 small trees, my house is new and a large part of the front yard is fill, need to get a tractor instead of zero turn, because have long driveway to push snow and wife wants a garden. Went to my local dealer to get a BX26 with front end loader and a belly mover in 60 inches, but right next to it was a B33 with the same set up...and now I'm flip flopping like a politician.. My primary reason for favoring the B is the lift capacity on the bucket.

My questions are
- does the B mow grass as effectively..it appears to only be a few hundred lbs heavier, would it be more likely to damage the yard? I.e. Is it to big?
- is removing the bucket the same amount of work on both?
- since it will be my primary mower should I get the fine cut?
- is maneuverability much different btw. The models
- I've heard that the 60 inch size mower is optimal, any thing else I should consider
- how many hydraulic hooks up do I need, if I want to till, dig fence posts etc?
- what are other ? I am to ignorant to know? Are there key options I should absolutely get?

Wow that's a lot for hello, I have searched the forum and got lots of great info, thank you or any help.

Welcome Mike :D And to answer your questions as simply as possible,,, YES the B will do everything the BX will do. With that being said here are a few cavorts
B is a little larger and will not be as nimble as the BX both machines will cut ,chop and spit grass super! And 60 incher will do wonderful and its still easy to maintain though I think it still weighs about 200+ pounds

I have the standard MMM on my BX and it cut fine and if there is scrub brush it chops it up the decks are pretty well built!

The PHD will attach to your 3 point on the back of either machine, and connect to the PTO so you need nothing to make it work other than what is already on the tractor.
And if your lovely bride wants a garden the tiller hooks up the same way to the 3 point hitch and PTO.

I would suggest you think about looking for a box blade for smoothing out a lot of the dirt for the yard. While a FEL is the tool for moving dirt and stuff the rear box blade it what you need to move it around the yard, fill in holes level out the land AND for fixing the ruts in your drive way after winter is done.

Now as for which one, my friend drive them both, let your bride drive them both, and pick the one you feel most comfortable on, as both will give you years of service and surprise you at how much work you can get done with a small machine.
Myself the price would be the determining factor, both will do what you need them to do.
One thing I will add,,, DONT count the BX out because it is a little smaller, trust me it aint no lawn mower :D

Im in a similar boat. 3 flat acres and now a 9 year old house, 2nd owner. I didnt look at the B, just wanted a BX. Wanted the backhoe but not needed, hardly used but glad I have it for the few times I have used it. Maintain a ~400' gravel drive, I wish it was concrete or at least blacktop. My garden is only 10x40, tilled the first year and know using the no till method. I wanna put in a second garden but will do the same. Still trying to figure out snow removal. Last year front bucket and rear blade, we had a hell of a winter then. Bought a front blower this year with the rear blade. Defianetly a time saver but the blower doesnt like gravel. Destroyed my blower fan blade, will tearing apart and replacing it this summer. I mowed for 2 years with it, I think it mowed great. My dad was getting rid of his newly zero turn, so I picked that up for half price. BX willing be sitting a little more this summer, maybe it will last longer.:D

I figure my projects are small and/or just finish work, which the BX will handle just fine. It will move mountains giving enuogh seat time and patience.

Mike,

What have you been quoted for both of them? Look up on Kubota.com and price it out and then take off about 10% ....that ought to get you in the ball park....

Never seen a B33 .......did you leave a couple numbers off by chance? 3300?
3350?

those B series equally equipped will be about 35% more to 40% than the BX....now true bigger is better!!!!

But you might want to stick with the BX - like he said - it aint no lawn mower.......matter of fact it eats them (look at my picture)

I would take the extra monies and by a box blade and and tootbar and wheel spacers....and ....and :D:)

Mike, welcome- when I first read your post I thought it said a 3 acre pond. I was ready to come over to help you a bit and fish!

I would suggest taking your wife to the dealer and let her run the mower no matter which machine you go with. When she has confidence, feels how easy it is to operate, and see's how her yard will look she will take ownership of that project and leave you to other chores.

I know you have a dealership in your back yard going North and South. I'd suggest you also take a ride to Bonner Springs. They have a fantastic service dept, sales dept and three location in KC area.

Thank you all for the feedback and your time...very helpful

The BX2670 was quoted at $18, (FEL and MMM)and a similarly equipped B2650 was quoted at
$20 ...but I did not negotiate at that point, it was just the first shot. I did not ask the price for the B3350 but he mentioned it was roughly $2k more.

Today a buddy at work urged me to go to the Green dealer with him, I looked at the 2032R...I was impressed with the drive over deck, and the ingenious Loader that has a built in kickstand...

The Green price was a bit cheaper..at least w/o negotiation...the hydraulic flow per minute is much less, and the Hydrostat 2 range vs. the Kubota with 3 range...not sure what that means.

Don't get me wrong I still want the Orange one, but the ease of removing the FEL and MMM was appealing, how long does this take on the Kubota?

Does the much higher flow rate on the Orange hydraulics mean anything?

I find it interesting that neither company talks torque?

What is the hydraulic set up I want?

Thanks again

Well, I have driven all of my favorites, and I think the B is for me, they list a b3350, but around me no one has it...any specific recommendations in the B line?
