BX2200 missing lift arms

I'm on the brink of purchasing a BX2200, my only concern with it is that it doesn't have the lift arms, the bit under the seat where I'd expect them to come from appears to have blanking plates at each side and it looks like the lever cable is bolted to one of them so that the control lever cannot be used.

I'm struggling to find a parts diagram or user manual that might shed some light on why this tractor is missing it's arms or what parts I might need to re-enable this feature.

Ideally I'd get a flail mower on the back of this machine.

Can I use it with some sort of manually adjustable lift arms if getting the hydraulic ones working isn't an option?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Stu

Welcome to the forum!
It looks like the rock shaft is there, so you need the upper lift arms, side links, lower lift arms, the hardened common shaft that the lower lift arms and the pivot plate (which the stabilizers attach to), the pivot plate, and stabilizers. You will need to remove the hitch that is bolted to the bottom of the cradle (it will be in the way of the pivot plate and the stabilizers). There is a flat plate hitch that goes in its place, as seen in the attached photo.

Hello s6stuc,

Try this resource. You can probably get the parts information you need.

Good luck with this "parts quest". You may wind up using some aftermarket components in lieu of factory originals due to availability.

Sounds like that will be a VERY expensive fix!

Thanks, although for me that link is blocked by my browser (maybe as I'm in the UK?)

I also get 'access denied' on this url

As long as I can fix an attachment to it and adjust the height manually that's not too much of an issue. What I'm struggling with is why they're not there in the first place, it doesn't look broken and it doesn't look bodged.

I would guess the PO removed them because they interfered with something they were using on the back. Does operating the 3pt lever cause the rockshsft to rotate?

No part of the plate which closes off the holes where the rockshaft would come out has a bracket to which the cable to the lever is bolted effectively locking the control level in a fixed position, so it can't be moved.

It looks like the PO had something special mounted on the rear. Perhaps some sort of backhoe or trencher. The lockout on the 3pt lever is probably related to those two sets of hydraulic outlets. You will have to remove all of that custom hitch and replace it with the 3pt components. Going to be pricey.

Thanks, fortunately the tractor itself is a lot cheaper than other similar ones.

You can go to Messicks and pull up the parts diagrams along with prices. Assuming you can still get all of the pieces you are looking at a couple thousand dollars.

It may not be worth the reduced price.
Other than ingenuity and fabrication, there is no manual lift set up for it.

Thanks everyone for replying so quickly! It's not sounding good though. I was hoping with the availability of Kubota parts that a couple of hundred quid might get it sorted. In desperation here's a brighter photo of the pto area.

Just the lift arm hardware will cost that much. Adding in the common shaft, the upper lift arms, and whatever might be needed to get the hydraulic control working will increase the price.

I think your cost hopes are off by a factor of 10. Arms are ~$100 each and you need 4. Side link assemblies are $240 each and you need 2. That is approaching the $1K mark and there are a lot of little bits that will add up quickly.

Hello to you in "Old England". I live in "New England", and we are proud of our "Revolutionary" history, but we still like our fraters in the UK...

You will find a lot of really knowledgeable people on this forum. I have been helped out of situations more than a couple of times.

Are you able to open a Virtual Private Network that allows you to select your region? If so, try starting the VPN and list your location as the USA. Failing that, I would think that Kubota has a similar site for UK users.

Again, good luck!

Stu,

This might work for future reference. I tried to log on to the Canadian Kubota site. I was blocked. I then started a Virtual Private Network, selected Canada as my location, got right in, and went to the parts reference.

Good thing we haven't actually bought it yet. I think we'll look for another tractor (orange of course) that is ready to work. Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply, you've helped me avoid a costly mistake!

I assume you've asked the owner if he has the parts ? Or if the guy who did the 'upgrade' ,kept the 3PH pieces ??
