Was tilling and digging out brush the other day when my tiller would not stay up. Found out I had not changed the fluid for 500 hours, so I changed it only to find out it was milky w/water. Replaced it twice, with a diesel bath/shake in between and new filter. Problem persists and the dealer wants me to bring it in for further diagnosis. The FEL will go up if I hold it very close to the off position or in combination with a bucket movement but will only go down in combination with a bucket move or in float position. The 3-pt will not do anything! Power steering and transmission work fine. Love this tractor ...

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I could do to determine the situation or solution?

Did you remove any lines when you were doing the fluids flushes and changes?

Sounds like you have either swapped lines or have clogged up quick disconnect fittings on the FEL control, or the BH loop on the back is so equipped.

BH = backhoe (if you have one). The loop lets fluid going to backhoe return to sump when you remove the backhoe.

I did blow out the FEL lines. I could have mixed up the lines going to the controller but would that affect the 3-pt?

What is the BH loop?
Yes if you don't have the lines right on the controller it most certainly will effect the 3 point, as that's where the three point gets it's feed from! ;)

The color codes on the hoses match to the controller (and I couldn't physically exchange the two I blew out). Therefore, it must be clogged connectors. How do you get them unclogged? Do they have to be replaced?

Sure appreciate your help on this!

First try disconnecting and reconnect in them, sometimes they just don't seat well.
Next you would take them off and flush out the back of the coupler.

Well ... cleaned out quick-connects and did not help.

Checked the repair manual and it suggested I check the Relief Valve pressure.
That pressure is nonexistent (zero). As I read the manual (pg 5-S1), I need to tear apart the tractor to either repair or replace the Relief Valve!

There's only about 2500 hours on it ...

UPDATE: One of the hose sleeves was covering a QC that I had not discovered. It was completely disconnected.

EVERYTHING WORKS FINE NOW ... except the charge light doesn't go off.
That shouldn't be a big deal either. :)

Oh wow...talk about a great ending!

I hope you didn't tear a lot of stuff apart before finding it!

Thanks so much for coming back to report the fix!
