Looking to update my Bx to a larger unit for some upcoming heavier work that will also need a little more ground clearance.. However I still need it to work in some tighter spots. I have a narrow path ~65 inches down a ~17 degree slope ( level right to left - no side slope work) that I need to access part of the yard. I also have a short but ~13 degree sloped driveway that i use a snow blower on. The Bx handles that work great and claims that like a mountain goat. I think no problem for the b2601. I have not had chance to see an lx in person yet. It should squeek through but my question is will the lx feel too big for that use case? Will the extra weight cause problems with snowy covered sloped driveway? I wI’ll stay with turf tires as they have worked great.

thanks

Before you spend the money,, and I mean this in the truest way. Have your stealer bring a 01 series out and run it around for a weekend. I bought my 2601 for the same reason, and something about it I couldnt put my finger on, then someone in here said it,, the B2601 is a BX with a lift kit, and it is. Now dont get me wrong the 01 series is a nice little tractor and will do just about anything you ask of it, but for me it always seems top heavy , even with 2 inch spacers, it needs to be 6 inches wider. On the level it works like a monster but in the woods and on grades, I am ashamed to say it, but it scares the snot out of me. The kitchen is a tad on the small side for a fat crippled up old man, and mounting and dismounting can be tricky. I thought it would serve me and it does to a point, Had I to do it over I would have gone up one size. This is just MHO, others think the 01 series is the best thing since sliced bread, I'm not one of them

What implements do you plan to use on your new tractor? Loader? Snowblower? Mower of some kind? Blade? Your description is a little vague as to what you will exactly be using it for other than driving up and down a slope. My driveway is at least that steep and I use a set of ladder tire chains on my turf tires in the winter to snowblow.

Right now it’s just the snowblower and loader. going forward I will be adding grapple And a box blade. before investing money in new implements and 3rd function I thought I might resize. Prior to th Bx I had b7610 and I thought it was a good size and I like, but was a bit overkill for the new house. As we buy a new lot it will need to do double duty on both properties. The new property will be trail cutting light landscaping, etc. maybe a mower, I still have a deer x500 that does that for now.

Good day…I think @skeets is shooting you straight. I have had both and and IMO (I don’t have a way to measure or validate other than frequency and location where tire lifts off ground), but my BX was more stable than my current B.

If I were in the fence and had a an area that was a must…to me that is a buy criteria and for that amount of my cash I would want a demo or a written return policy if not satisfied…explain it to your salesman and hopefully they understand and take your side. They should want you to be happy. If not I’d try another dealer.

no one knows your property better than you.

just my two cents.

Have considered upgrading my 1880 to a B. But after seeing one up close, it’s like Kubota put larger tires on a BX but still narrow like a BX. If/when I upgrade, will get a LX. May keep the BX for smaller duties. Get a LX.

If I didnt have to worry about the lake property I would definitely go lx. I worry about the lx being too big in this situation. i guess the best way will be to do a trial Run. For those that may have made this move, does the lx feel drastically different in size when driving or maneuverability? Doest it take up a lot more storage space? The dimensions would say it’s not that much different but in pictures it looks substantially
larger.

I just took delivery of an LX2620 last week, to (maybe) replace my 2015 BX25. I have ~930 hrs on the BX and 7 hrs on the LX. With the larger tires, ground clearance, and cab, the LX seems a lot more substantial, but in fact overall dimensions aren't that much different. In fact, the LX is a little shorter overall than the BX with the ROPS up. While the BX feels a little more nimble, so far I haven't found much difference in maneuverability. For just working around the yard I'd prefer an open station again, but I mainly plow snow 6 months out of the year. I'm just at that stage of life where a heated cab makes too much sense.

That LX looks sweet. Could you measure the height with cab on? Looking at the picture, does seem it’s shorter than the BX.

Think I will go see one up close when I get into town later on. Looking at the information on Kubota web site, am liking what I am seeing.

I don't know if you plan to use the MMM, but the attachment is different. You might look at that. The LX has a lot more lift capacity as well. I don't know your situation, but I don't have an issue with an L in snow.

I think the LX is two steps while the B2601 is one. I'm not sure one step is worth it.

Would trade in my 1880 if I don’t get reamed but I do need a MMM. Am in no hurry so will take my time and do a thorough research on this. Did look at a B. To narrow with those big tires in the back. Looks almost like Kubota changed the tires from a BX to the larger tires and the hydraulics got a bump for a little more lift.

The B01 series, is basically an economy series to fill a gap between the BX series and the LX. While the price may not seem that it’s “economy “, it fills a gap in the need for many people.

When i was at my dealer we ran the numbers on 3 tractors: B2601,Lx2620 and L2502. The B2601 W/60" mower was $23,012, the lx w/60" was $25,257 and the L2502 w/60" was $25,330. The L and Lx were a much better buy in what I was looking for.

Just got back from the dealer checking out the LX2620. That is a sweet tractor. Will have the sales guy stop by this week to see what they will give me for my 1880. Guess will see if I am getting a new tractor or not. Won't be giving in on trade in. If its to low, then will keep the 1880.
