If the body & hood are still that orange plastic - I wouldn't do it. It may look nice in the show room - but if you plan on doing anything other than mow grass - expect to see pieces of orange plastic here and there.....

That's funny. I have all kinds of BX's around me doing hard work, some even in rental and commercial service and I see NONE of them falling apart. I've seen some people in the bush jam sticks into their plastic hydro fan but that's about it.

But as the owner of class 8 trucks, I have come to see there are some people out there that can destroy anything.

Better go buy a plastic JD, LS, New Holland or Mahindra and let us know how that works out for you, LOL.

1860 and 1870 have metal platform and fenders. Maybe you should trade it in! Because right now we can see that Wisconsin does not enough cheese for your whine!

Seriously? Thats a load of crap. These tractors are rock solid.

Wait, in the hands of an idiot, anything can be broken.

Is there an actual question in here? Was it deleted?

Only one iteration of the BX was plastic, very short lived. If you own it, and are pissing about it, go ride a Deere or NH. Same plastic, different molding techniques. Every other BX is all metal.

I've put just under 1000 hrs in two years on my BX25D clearing heavy brush, building a road, house, fencing, etc.

I've beaten and broken lots of stuff...a few dents on the hood...but the tractor still looks great. I doubt anything other than a Kubota would have taken my abuse.

Maybe not. The 50 Series was mostly plastic in late 05' ish. Very short lived endeavor by Kubota. There are brackets and gussets developed to reduce cracking.

I dont afford people a lot of slack when they bitch about machines that are over a dozen years old. All things wear and break. Just like my body. Had a question been asked about sourcing replacement metal parts, Id be much more inclined to help.

After i read this i was on youtube reading about a mod for my tractor and found this video that tells about 5 of 6 models of the BX series. Oddly there was no 20 series or a 40 in the series. https://youtu.be/dxPwF2jONU4
