Congrats. I think what you are referring to is an optional cutting edge.

Post your tractor/loader model or you can look here:

enter your loader model. It should list a cutting bar under the options.

Not sure what the Kubota cutting edge cost but you would be doing yourself a favor by getting the BXpanded version.

Don't remember which company offered custom holes in the tooth bar, but I would buy one of those over buying the Kubota bar. A tooth bar is a much better investment for you bucket edge.

Agreed. However, to answer OP's original question, see below:

The cutting bar is only $130 CDN. It's a straight edged 'cutting' bar NOT a 'toothed' bar, so serves a different purpose.
straight bars generally used for 'material moving' like stones, gravel, etc., toothed bars work good for brush work, mulch piles, etc. wher eyou need to loosen up the material first.

My dealer threw in both the cutting edge and bucket leveling option when I purchased my 23s. Does save the bucket edge if using for hard pack.

Is it a true " bucket leveling option" or is it a bucket leveling indicator? One keeps the bucket level as you lift, and the other is a mechanical device that indicates where the bucket is level or not, for the operator to make adjustments with the loader stick.

I had to replace the cutting edge on my BX2230 a couple of years ago. I bought the new cutting edge and also a replaceable edge for a later BX and drilled the weld-on edge to accept the bolt on edge. Now, if and when I wear out the bolt on edge, I can just unbolt it and bolt on a new one. IMG_20200123_111309508 (Custom).jpg IMG_20200202_124329073 (Custom).jpg

Thanks for all the info. I cleared 3 inch’s of wet snow, that clogged up my small walk behind, with the bucket. Ordered the straight blade.

The bucket on my BX23S came with a 'level indicator'. It's a section of 'angle iron' welded to the top right area of the bucket. It had a label 'level' on it but several powerwashes later...it 'magically' disappeared.
Great picture of it in post # 7.
I did design/build a true 'self leveling loader' system for my old JD garden tractor, made it easy to use it as a mini forklift.
