I have a friend that has a L185 with a loader on it that he was thinking of selling so I asked him to think of a price, A week later he called and said he would let it go for $1350. he said he wanted $1500. but the steering nut is messed up and it will not steer to the left only right. But it runs good with a little smoke and has a loader. So I will be picking it up next week, I always wanted a small tractor and with a loader it is a plus. I am not sure of the year of it. Rear tires are good fronts are not. The hood has a dent and the rear fenders are rusty but not rotten. I will change the oil and filter right off and the steering shaft will be on order right away.

Sounds like a great deal. A grey ,market version, that was 2wd and no fel was sold for 3,000 around here. Great find. And a great tractor. :D

It has 1400 or so hours on it serial no L185-11705. I plan on a PTO wood splitter as soon as I find a good deal.

That's a pretty good deal, with the loader. I got mine for $800 (no loader, turf tires). It had a freeze plug out, but $150 worth of parts, and 10 hrs work got it cleared up. They are really good basic tractors...:D

I had an L175 for almost a year. I rebuilt the steering box, flushed radiator, new upper and lower hoses. New glow plugs, new intake manifold gasket. New battery and cables. Replaced starter after I "failed" to rebuild it. New alternator. Repaired tach cable engagement gizmo. Paid $1700 and sold it for $2500 with a spruced up belly mower. Awesome tractor, but I need to hog several acres, maintain several more and always loader work. Would love to have kept it, but needed money for B7610...

Virtually same machine but yours is a touch heavier.
