I'm closing on my house in March, and I'm debating on "when" to buy my B3200. Current deal, is the same as the end of last year, $0 down, 0% for 60 months. A little less money in discounts now than in December.

On April 1st, this deal changes, to.....who knows?

I don't know whether to buy now, or if I'll be kicking myself in the pants for not waiting. I wasn't sure when the best deals are for these things.

Thoughts and experiences?

Why not ask the dealer straight up? Give him the stink eye and question when you should buy. He'll (or she'll) have to live with the consequences of you getting the sour deal every time you walk in there for service, parts, etc.

As for discounts you will probably see less deals at the beginning of the year than the end. As time goes on overall prices are more likely to rise. As for 0% down, 0% financing, it can only go one way!

Why wait?

They usually say, they will fins on the day the promotion comes out. However, when they talk to their REPS, there is usually some rumor about what is intended. I doubt they would know a month in advance. My thoughts from my experiences at least.

It'll be probably mid March when I get the house, so mid-late March when I'll be swinging by the dealership. Hopefully I can get a clue then. He knows I'm buying regardless, so help a guy out haha

I am going to go ahead and pick up a L3800HST or L4600HST next week...my dealer says he might get some notice that last week of March but cant imagine prices coming down off on what I was quoted. Plus they still dont know the prices on the Grand L series replacements but they are going to be higher...don't see the base L's coming down any.

RidgeRunner If you dont mind me asking what kind of price did you get on the 4600?
Quoted $24,795 for the L4600DT with Kubota LA764 FEL and standard kubota bucket. I believe to add HST cost another $1000 but I will check next week as I am not sure the $24,795 was on the HST or DT...don't have all my notes with me right now. The price did include the $500 discount for Kubota vs Ansung loader. Going with the Ansung loader only saved an additional $350. I believe to remove the quick attach on FEL also cut price by another $500.

Price on L3800HST with LA524 FEL was $15,600 + $3,975. Drop another $500 off this price by removing the quick attach. I don't plan on ever removing the bucket so that is why I may drop the quick attach option.

All of these prices were the 0% interest for 5 yr as cash gets you another $1000 discount.

This is not the dealer I am going with as they are 2 hrs away vs 1 hr but check out the package deals at
http://www.steenent.com/Tractor-Package-Deals.php
for some comparable package prices in SC.

When the Tier 4 diesel's hit your local dealer lot expect prices to go up about 10 to 15% of what tractors are currently running now.

I have a tendency to over think purchases as big as this. I thought about buying for a couple years. Luckily they still had the zero % deal when I bought. I just kept working on the JD every time I needed to use it. This may sound odd but a friend of mine passed away in November at the age of 44 and it changed my perspective on life. Basically, time is valuable so I stopped wasting my time and stopped being so cheap. At first I was going to buy something around 50hp but got a good deal on the L3800. I have 9 acres and its been more than enough for me. At this point I wish I would have bought a couple years ago so that I'd be that much closer to having it paid off.

One thing that might be helpful is that my payment was due on the 18th same day as my mortgage. I set up the auto payment through their website and changed my payment to the 7th of each month. The first payment was made on the 18th then the rest will be paid 11 days early on the 7th.

I hate paying interest so you really can't beat the current deal. If your going to buy one anyway I would go ahead and make the deal.

Just my 2 cents...

I understand...

Yeah I'm sort of doubting the deal will get better, so with my luck, I'll probably end up playing it safe and buying in March.

I'll just be jealous of my neighbor's L, while I have my 'little' H3200

Checked out the L3800HST and L4600HST today. Loved the L3800 and was very happy with it. Salesman told me not to get on the L4600 unless I was prepared to buy it. After driving both the L4600 was like driving a Cadillac.

L4600HST with Kubota 764 FEL being delivered next Friday.

Cost on the L4600HST and LA764 FEL was $19,725 + $4560 = $24,285 or about $5,200 higher than the L3800HST with FEL. That was the 0% for 60 month price.

No haggling but I hit it off good with salesman and bought from a higher volume dealer (that has a great reputation) further out in the country and they were about $750 cheaper than the dealer closer to city who quoted $25,039 for same package on L4600HST with same FEL.
