Hi there. I have a 7040, and the ride is extremely bumpy. I can’t get anywhere near 25mph on the road without feeling like I’m in a death machine.

8 mph max, the roads are pretty good Tarmac

Around the yard I have good hard standing but obviously not completely flat and just getting about is painful

I have an air ride seat which helps but still very uncomfortable

Any suggestions ? Lower tyre pressure ?

I would check the tire pressure in all your tires first, go with what Kubotas specs. Also are your tires loaded with liquid? I have a L3540 and very rarely travel highway roads more then 1/4 mile with loaded tires and recommended tire pressure and the ride in medium high is just fine. Now neighbor up the road has huge tractors and travels many miles to feed his 2000 cows but I never see his crew traveling very fast on highway even with the huge tractors. Maybe your going faster then you should? Just saying.

Possible that the tires are foam filled? That's a neighbors biggest complaint with his green tractor that has foam filled tires.

My manual says to run the tire pressure at the max, it equals the max pressure printed on the tire. To me this is contrary to most everything I have been taught. I thought the max pressure on the tire was to set the bead but to run the tire at a somewhat lower pressure. My rear tires say 20# and I am running 16#, fronts say 35# and I run under 30#.

I agree - it is one thing to run a tire on a car/truck at the manu's recommendation, THAT vehicle HAS shocks.....

a tractors shocks are directly related to the tires, and only the tires!;)

Having a ballast/FEL will change this thought process however!:D:)

Are you tires Bias ply or Radials? Radials on tractors pull great, but some brands will bounce at the 20-25 mph range.

Ok thanks for all your help. I don’t have water or foam filled tyres. Based fact that 100% of the suspension is from the tyres I’ve checked the pressure which on the rear was perfect at 18psi. It’s cold here at the moment (nothing compared with you lot on the other side of the pond ) so I’ve reduced the pressure to 15psi on the rears on the basis that when it’s warmer the pressure will go up. It’s made little difference to the ride. I guess I was expecting too much.
