Looking for advice for bucket forks for my tractor.
I'm thinking they could be useful for moving deer
stands, railroad ties, logs etc around the property.
I'm looking at a pair at amazon for $172.00 free
delivery with a 4,000 lb capacity.

https://www.amazon.com/Pallet-4000lbs-capacity-Skidsteer-Tractor/dp/B008EER7ZA
Check out the same item directly at the manufacturer:

http://www.palletforks.com/skid-ste...rk-attachments-107/clamp-on-pallet-forks.html

Join their email list and I think you get 10% off. Free shipping and I didn't have to pay sales tax either. They also come out with 15% off sales and that is when I bought my stump bucket and QA pallet forks for my L3560.

Have fun!
Ted

Thanks much, I bought the forks and then bought the
72" fork extenders. Like you said, free shipping and no
tax. If I read their map right, I should get 1 day shipping.

You will get good use out of the forks. We have a pair with QA. Be warned you can't see the forks. It's not like a skid steer where you are looking at the forks. You have to use them with the braille method. Often times I'm "landscaping" just trying to get them into a pallet. But for moving logs or deer stands they are great.

I bought the 42"forks from Titan and the 72" fork extender from titan.
They are out for delivery and I will get them today. I want to unload a
4,000 lbs deer stand off the back of a trailer. At least that's what he told
me it weighed. Is this possible with my forks and my mx5200.

It is 72 inches front to back on the frame just below the hut. I'm sure
my forks won't extend that far but have heavy timber to run through.
I thought he could pick it up and I would drive the trailer out.

A couple of things to keep in mind. First, the farther away the load is from the bucket, the lesser the lift capacity because of leverage. It looks like you'll be extended out quite far. Second, you may need some ballast in the rear to keep your back wheels on the ground if your FEL will pick it up. If necessary, hook up an implement, ballast box or something else to keep balance.

Be careful and good luck,
Ted

Josef,
Your loader will not pick up any where near 4000lbs.

2275lbs at the pins
and
1691lbs at 19.5" from the pin
So at 72" about 118lbs...
Yea yea I know... :p

So can I unload it or not. It sounds like if I use fork lifts,
I won't even come close. People must do it all day long.
What am I missing?? Any suggestions???
1 dude told me to use lumber as a ramp and pull it down
the ramp.
We strapped lumber to the side and then the bucket, we
couldn't clear the trailer.

Yes just pick up one side (as it will be less than half the weight) and drag it off the trailer halfway so that end sits on the ground, set that down, then pick up the other end and drive the trailer out from under it.;)

Josef,
Don't you have an SSQA (skid steer Quick attach) on your loader???

If so get a set of SSQA forks, 100% better than bucket forks.

Thank you! This is exactly what I have been looking for. A set of dedicated lighter duty forks that are affordable. Most of them out there are rated much heavier than my machine could lift and cost $800+

What's that stand made of? I built a 6x6 stand this year. Floor is framed with 2x6s, 3/4 plywood floor, 2x4 framed walls and roof, all treated lumber. Don't know what it weighed but I had no problem lifting it with a set of titan forks on my new tractor. I loaded it on a trailer at got it to where I wanted it, then was able to lay it on it's back to put the legs under it and pull it up into place.

It's all steel. My son and I built one similar to what you are talking about out of wood. My son could pick up 1 end by himself. He can't come close to picking up 1 end of this.

Why don't you just tell your boss you need a rest. I have 3 spare beds, pigs everywhere and you won't need a hunting license. I feel I could sure use help unloading it.

The deer stand is unloaded. We drug the deer stand to the back of the trailer using the pallet forks and set that end on 2 railroad ties. This all went great. I won't go into the 20 or so intermediary steps we found ourself using. It is on the ground and set up. Thanks for the help.
