Hello OrangeTractor people,

Using a kubota A17 for 6 years . After discovering that is was a grey market unit I started to gather information. Bought a parts manual wich is very usefull. Getting the parts is not so easy.

During plowing a big bang and stuck in the mud. After switching off the front wheel drive I was able to get back in the shop. The front universal u joint had broken into several pieces.

It is attached to a 20mm 14 spline shaft and 150 mm long with a 62 mm diameter. The part number is 66591-56410. The B7500 and B2100 have the same engine and I hope the same u joint partnumber 6C040-57542.

The question is do they have the same shaft an spline dimensions.

Thanks

Did the Ujoint break or the yoke? Did you damage any splines?
Drive shaft damaged?

Netherlands? are you near a large city? any tractor supply or auto supply should be able to match your Ujoint.

This is what's left. Spline is OK. The cross is gone probably plowed into the soil.

I might be lucky there is a dealer for kubota parts in the next village. I can only get parts if I have a partnumber. The next stop will be at the japanes cardealer

Ouch broke both of the yokes. You said you had a parts manual, it doesn't give you the part#?

For sure. If you show up at a dealer with the japanes partnumber they can't find the part. I think the part is the same on a B7500 or B2100. If sombody can measure the shaft diameter and count the number of teeth from the spline on one of these tractors I'm sure I order the right part.

I think the cross failed a long time ago because the yoke leftovers are worn badly. This driveshaft runs in the chassis and is only visable through a hole when you're under the tractor.

If you have the "Japanese" part number for those parts give them to me and let me see if I can cross it over for you.;)

North American numbers for b7500.
The parts book show this as a complete assembly with Ujoint, not individual yokes.

6C040-57542

I can send you the complete PDF in a couple of days if you need it.

I can only send after midnight here........for data usage reasons.

Thanks Ismurphy but I already have the pdf and that number see first post. Still unsure if the number of splines and shaftdiameter is the same.

The fact that the arm of the parts is called a yoke helped a lot. Searched this forum on yoke and several people had the same problem.

Ismurphy you have taken it apart and even made pictures. If I count the teeth on the spline its 12 or 14. What do you think?

This is all I can offer you.

The one on the right is the axle end for a b7100.

If you can post a similar pic of yours with drive shaft, maybe we can compare.

There is one, maybe two, salvage yards here in the states that may be able to help but we need a VERY CLEAR pic of yours.

The Ujoint size of 410 maybe of help to determine if they are the same size yokes, count the splines on the shaft in pic to see if that is similar.

BTW....

There is a member here named Rob, you will find his posts mostly in the "Fabrication" forum. He is in Ireland I believe. I know you are in Sweden or some other country but you both will source parts out of the UK. He maybe able to help, there are other members here in the UK also.

I'm ordering the part tomorrow. This will take a few days. It's dark again here in the Netherlands so clear pictures will follow later. Including old and new together. Thank you for you're support.

Universal joint assay (6C040-57542) has arrived and left the building. Splines and shaft diameters are the same. The bad news it's replaced by a much compacter assembly. Old one is 14.5 cm long and the new one only 9.5 cm. The only way to solve this is make it longer or a new shaft and the hole for the springpin has shifted 5mm.

I continued looking in this forum and the internet and found the part at Yenibiz.
Just waiting til it arrives can take a few weeks according their website.

Problem fixed. The parts arrived after 8 days a perfect job from Yenibiz. Fifteen minuts a little greas and it was installed. The part number in the manual is 66591-56320 and the replacement has number 66591-56315. Attached a picture of the residual and new part.

It's amazing how much 4wd helps. On muddy grass it's almost impossible to backup even a small trailer in 2wd. After the fix pulling a load of willow up a 15% muddy slope wihout a problem see picture.

Hi, I need a front propeller/drive shaft for a B6100D that I am restoring. I need the shaft, UJ's and cover if possible. If anyone knows where I can find one, that would be great
