I installed one of Ken's excelent bolt on hooks in the center on my L2501's loader. My thoughts were to add two more when I get a chance. My grapple spends most of the time on the loader but it sure is handy to have hooks when needed.

I did not rig the compactor , I would have used a chain or some sort of protection for the strap and the bottom cutting edge. It was a short lift so no damage done to strap.

I thought about a center hook, however I opted (MX) for a receiver in the center which can hold a hook if need be…eventually I’ll add a receiver to the B as well. It’s handy to push a trailer as well as another lashing point for an ornery GSD.

Very innovative! Makes good use of Kubota's otherwise strangely designed upper lip on some buckets like mine.
Thanks !
version 2.0 will have a 3rd hook in the middle to span TWO sections of strut. that way each section goes to the end of the bucket, for even better support..though so far not needed.

I ended up going with 2 bolt on hooks and a bolt on d-ring/ clevis in the middle. This has worked really well for me. I would say I probably use the center a little more often but for sure use the sides and in some cases I use all 3 for a lift.
i still want forks but am happy for now.

Yes to forks !!! Probably a 50/50 split between forks and bucket and having SSQA makes it EASY to choose and use the best implement for the job.

Thank you for the responses so far - and for some more examples in the form of pics. I can see two hooks being better in cases like the ones pictured but if most of the work I plan to do is of the cinch strap/haul variety, would one hook centered on the bucket be better than using a single hook on one side of the bucket? What do you folks do when using a lift strap to haul a tree for instance? Do you use one the hooks on the side or figure out a way to share the load over both hooks?

It's an honest question; I've owned my tractor for years but am new to rigging concepts. Until now, I've just hauled stuff with my backhoe but obviously that's not ideal nor particularly easy.
Two would be a better option in most circumstances IMO. Even just strapping something to your bucket. I'm not saying it will end in disaster with just one.

If using a “strap” instead of chains… a Clevis might be a better choice than hooks.

My tractors’ previous owner had One Clevis welded to the center of the bucket…sitting on top of a 1/2” reinforcing plate he’d also welded all the way across the top of the bucket.

It was after I’d acquired the tractor that I welded two hooks on top of that plate in front of each loader-arm.

Here’s the day I brought it home (obviously before I discovered a clevis is lousy for use with a chain and added hooks…as seen on the bottom pic of one side.)

Hooks should probably be welded/bolted 'inline' with the loader arms, usually stronger and better to transfer the weight to the tractor.

Thanks again everyone for your responses and suggestions. While outside measuring the lip on my bucket and picturing the center hook with clevis backing plate, I was wondering: Has anyone tried putting a hook INSIDE the bucket (rather than along the top)?
What if instead of mounting a hook along the top, I mounted a clevis plate inside with a blank backing plate outside? I could then use the clevis plate to mount a shackle OR a grab hook (which would be sideways). Would that be a bad idea?
