I installed a new 1/4" x 31" v-belt on my B7000D, but when I turn the wingnut (bolt) to adjust the tension nothing happens- the pulley remains in the same position. Has anyone out there been through this? Is there a spring inside the pulley housing? Help!

Is that a fan belt? Mower belt? Not sure what your referring too for the belt. A few more details are needed. :) pictures help as well for us folks that need to see something to figure it out :D:D

Re: Belt adjustment on B700D

It's my fan belt. The picture shows how I think the pulley is supposed to move to adjust the belt tension, but the pulley doesn't move. If I can't fix it, I guess I'll try to find a 30" belt (1" shorter) and try to force it on the pulley. Has anyone else had this issue?

Looks like your at the end of the adjustment, so you will probably need a shorter belt.
I do believe you will need to loosen the nut on the end of the pulley in order for the pulley to slide in. ;)

Yup, gotta loosen that pulley nut first.

Update: I tried to put a 29" belt on (the next smallest size in a 1/4" w belt), but it was too crowded. So, I dealt with the stuck adjustment pulley by removing the radiator and fan, taking off the pulley adjustment housing and repairing the pulley tensioner. Set it to slack, put the belt on and adjusted it to nice tight fit. The radiator was still a bit clogged so I soaked it and blew the fins out again. Thanks for the advice...I had forgotten to loosen the pulley before trying to use the tensioner.
