Bad PTO - L2500

I think I blew my PTO - I was bush hogging in a rough patch and it suddenly quit. I can see fluid moving in the transmission (via the vent plug) when I engage the PTO lever. The output shaft freewheels and looks fine. I drained the hyd fluid, pulled the PTO output shaft and looked around in the diff area - all looks OK there. Do I have a bad over running (one way) clutch ? I have worked on automotive transmissions before but never split the cases on a tractor. Is this best left to a dealer or should I dive in and experience this first hand ? or better yet maybe I missed something simple......... Thanks -Pete

Start simple, did you break the shear bolt on the pto shaft on the bush hog?
