Steam shovel type setup is very useful in popping trees out of the ground,
or for under digging a slab or foundation. ;)

I switched the bucket orientation on the Kubota U17/3 excavator. You just have to swap the 30mm permanent pin on the bucket with the insertable PIN.

It's useful for pulling fruit trees out of the ground.

It will work the opposite way but it had 20% of its digging strength. The U17/3 has extremely strong digging forces, but this is pulling power, not pushing power.

In order to make it work the same you would have to switch all the hydraulic rams the other way round, which would require repositioning all the hydraulic hoses also.

I switched the pins over today, it took a whole hour and it was a total waste of time.
