Hey guys. Appreciate this site, I visit often for random issues I come across that I cannot assess. Finally figured it was time to join and give it a try before becoming a member. I have a customer calling, stuck in the field with his tractor, B8200. Shut it down last night, and this am went to start and nothing. Dash lights up and no click. Tried to pull start and nothing. I asked him to check the obvious: seat safety switch, PTO, range/gear lever and e brake. Non HST, so no pedal to check. He said he tried to jump the starter also and no luck. Just wondering what I may be missing before I charge him to go out there....trying to save him some of his hard earned money. Fuseable link perhaps? He says he hears a hum like noise when he turns the key on....not sure where its coming from.

If he's jumped the starter and gets nothing then it's most likely either bad battery, bad cable connections, or cables.
And if it won't pull start then he has something else going on as that model require zero electric to run.

On the B8200, it's a pretty simple system compared to the 2017 version of tractor. I think there is a fuseable link down by the starter, and a couple of fuses in round fuse holders under the dash. The under dash fuses are accessible without removing anything, they're just tucked up under to get out of the way.

If there is a safety switch on the tractor it would be on the clutch. Don't think there is one on the seat.

Make sure he double checks his battery to confirm it's good. Ought to remove the positive and negative cables and clean both ends of each cable. Check for corrosion under the insulation at the ends. Also, clean the frame of paint and rust at the point of the ground bolt.
