Three weeks ago I started making bits to adapt parts of a used hydraulic steering system that came off a BX. The parts came from @Mountainman - Daryl at Mossy Creek Outdoors.

Today I fitted the last 5 hoses, topped up the hydraulic oil and gave it a test.

I was right in an earlier post about the ID-10-T interface. I don't know how many times I looked at the steering cylinder to work out which hose went front and back to turn left and right, but I still messed it up. When I fired it up for the first test, the steering wheel and the front wheels were opposite....ID-10-T.

After swapping two hoses on the steering valve L and R ports I tested it again and it works. It actually works. I'm always pleasantly surprised at this point when something I've never done before works.

I need to add some cable ties and maybe make some brackets to ensure hoses don't get caught in any moving bits, then clean and put away the 5,000 different tools I somehow needed to do this.

Good job!

It's amazing how many tools we need. A few weeks ago, I changed disks and rotors on my pickup, simple job. When I got through, sure enough, half my tools were lying around; I had even gone to the store to buy more! All for a simple job.

Thanks. Yeah, it's the same every time for me.
