B7100 Snow Plow Plumbing

I have a chance to pick up a plow and sub frame for a decent price not too far away.

The hoses apparently need to be replaced, but it should bolt right up.

How are the controls plumbed into it, do I need to make sure my tractor has anything special, or is there a spot on the factory pump for the hoses? I don't think it's a 4way blade, just up and down, not sure how many hoses are involved yet, but I want to make sure it doesn't turn into a huge deal trying to get things working.

My tractor is late 70s, regular transmission and 4wd. The donor appears to be hydrostatic, but almost identical, so probably also older.

On the HST model, there are two provisions for tapping into the hydraulic system. On the right side of the engine is the "hydraulic block". It's a two piece affair and the outermost original cover can be replaced with another with ports for hydraulic connections. This requires the use of "power beyond" equipped controls.

If it was set up to use the hydraulic block, then the donor machine will need the original cover (or a short hose to connect the outlet to the inlet) so the seller might be willing to swap with you if your early version has the same block.

The other provision is a diverter valve under the front of the seat. This selects either 3ph lift or an accessory plumbed into the plugged port. The 3ph control lever must be in the "lift" position to supply hydraulic fluid to an accessory plumbed to that port, as it is after the valve.

In all cases, fluid return is piped to the fill port under the front of the seat. Install a short 1/2" pipe nipple and tee to permit filling the system after piping in the return line.

Actually, it will not bolt right up, the hydro subframe is 5" longer than your gear wheelbase and I think you will need to drill 2 holes to relocate the valve tower.I have performed the opposite: adapted a gear to hydro subframe.

Also, on my installation, using the factory diverter block, I used a Prince Wolverine valve body
which is "open center". Hope this helps. Roger

After finding some images that seems like the best idea. My block doesn't appear to be tapped except for one small plug on the front side, the ones I see online have two big ports tapped into the top.

Drilling a few holes shouldn't be a problem, just as long as the frame actually fits.

I'm thinking I need to take my tractor with me when I go to pick it up, so I can actually double check everything and swap any parts if needed.
