I've a B7100 at the moment on turf tyres, I've bought a set of ag rear wheels and tyres but I'm having a problem deciding what the correct front wheel backspace should be.

There seems to be 2 different 6 stud wheels that fit,

one has a backspace of 92mm, 3 5/8" with a label marked B8706,

and the other has a backspace of 118mm 4 5/8" unfortunately no label

Any ideas on what the correct wheel was originally?

My 1980 B7100 with ags is 3 5/8", no labels or numbers that I can find..... but mine are 4 lug, not six.

Mine is a late '91 with a genuine 740 hrs, so the hubs must've been changed to 6 stud.

I'd have to assume they changed from 4 to 6 when they changed from the old ball type axle (like an old Jeep) to the gear case style.

On both my L185DT and L3200DT if you follow the turning shaft axis down through the tire it would poke out just inside the tire centerline. That would tend to keep the strain on the shaft at a minimum. When you widen the wheels out, you are trying to roll the wheels around, as well as turn them on the shaft axis.
having said that, I would probably go for the wheel that gives you the wider stance. I don't think an inch is going to kill the front end, but it will make you feel better on the side of a hill.

Had a look at both pics, my axle is the 1st one, so my comment still stands, upgraded wheel hub, maybe country specific?

The hydro (pic 2), do we know the age of it? Surprised kubota would change an axle so late on when the model would be replaced.

My 7100 is a 92, by the code stamped on the back rim.
