Nice clean install. Great job...I converted my B2400 a few years ago, used a 40amp alternator from a Toyota forklift ( I'm a Toyota Lift tech, it was there and it fit )

That is what i am looking to do. Replacing the idler pulley with a small profile alternator like the Denso type.
I checked into sno-mobiles and it appears they still use dyno's not alternators. The motorcycle alternators sound like a good choice if you can find something at a reasonable price that you can adapt. The Comp-u-Fire alternators used to replace the factory alternators with higher output units on Honda GoldWings go for more than $400. Ouch...
