I am a new owner of an old B6200d and have a question on the glow plug circuit. When I turn the ignition switch to the left to activate the glow plugs, the glow plug light does not come on, should it. I checked the glow plugs with an ohm meter and all appear to be fine. When I check for voltage at the glow plug wire when I turn the switch I get none. Is there a fuse for the glow plugs? I have traced the wire going to the glow plugs and it goes thru the firewall and under the dash. It does not appear there is a way to get the dash cover off easily. If there is a fuse where is it and how to get to it?

I can get the motor started now but am concerned that when colder weather arrives I will need the glow plugs.

Thanks

The GP indicator is like the wire inside a toaster. It will take about 20-30 seconds to glow if all is well.

Do you have a workshop manual and operators manual? If not go to

http://kubotabooks.com/AutoIndex/in...s/&AutoIndex=02e500fe92a413b41942426480d40908

and download both.

Also download the WSM for the B7100HST. This manual has an excellent description for the GP circuit and switch illustrations show the current path.

Please describe how you determined the GP's were OK.

Do you have a 12 volt test light? Far easier and faster to use troubleshooting. About $10.

You need to start following the GP circuit from the Key switch. The GP indicator is in series with the GP's.

Because the GP circuit is a high amperage one, a little bit of corrosion on a terminal can cause big problems.

As Dave said - it will take a bit to see the coil get red, during the daylight it is hard to see - if doing it inside a garage - easier to see with lights off or at night. Let it set for 30 seconds, you should be able to see it even in daylight

Thanks guys. Downloaded the manuals, the electrical diagram is much better then the one I had. Will study and check out today. I did loosen the dash and was able to see inside.

Thanks again.

FYI: There is no fuse in the Glow plug circuit, just a main fuse link and if it cranks then that one is good. ;)
