OK.. So I'm the proud owner of a new-to-me 1984 b6100E. I've been reviewing Vic's videos and trying to learn as much as I can from reading the various posts here. I've been changing fluids, filters and greasing fittings as shown in the manual. However, one thing Vic did mention was to grease the throwout bearing. The manual doesn't give any guidance to doing this, so I figure I would ask you guys. There must be an "inspection plate" that I'm supposed to remove so I can gain access to the fitting. Can any one tell me where that is?? Thanks in advance!!

keep in mind , this does not grease the throwout _bearing_. It geases the shaft the bearing retainer slides fwd and backward on.

I've taken a picture of where it might be located but am having trouble attaching it.

Check for a rectangular plate just in front of your brakes.
Should be held on by 2 bolts.

.
OK.. Thanks Meanjean, and others.. I'll look for that plate when I get back home this evening. Also, I'll make sure not to get too overzealous with the grease gun :D

That would be about my luck.. grease on the clutch plate.. Well, at least it wouldn't rust to the pressure plate :p

Thanks again folks..

Congrats on the tractor, I am picking up a new to me B6100e this weekend. From what people have told me about that tractor, it is one good little workhorse. Will be using ours to keep up about seven acres around our home. That model in the hst was one they kept grounds up with at my work, and they had good service out of it.

Well, congrats to you as well !! I think you'll like it. I run a 4 foot Brushhog (Rotary cutter to you Northerners ;) ), 4 foot box blade, 5 foot straight blade and a chain harrow with no problem. Just make sure you have adequate front counterweight (or an FEL) and you'll be good to go. I've had mine for about a month now, and I can tell you that it IS a little workhorse. There's a lot of good info on this site. Make sure you watch Vic's (and Mr. K's) videos..

Also, in case you don't get the owners manual for it, here is a link that might help:

And here is a link to the parts manual:

Again, congrats, and a big thanks to everyone who helped with my original question.
