Does anyone know what the amperage is for sure on the dynamo on a B2650 that was bought in 2019? Called the dealer and they could not find anything on the amperage. All the lights including the ones that I have on the ROPS are LED's. I checked the amp draw with all the lights on and it is only about 8 amps so I am not worried about over drawing. Just wondering incase I add more stuff in the future. If you look on line for the part # it comes up with units anywhere from 14 to 20 amps.

You are focusing on the wrong parameter lookiong at amp output.

If the dynamo is keeping the battery voltage at around 13.8 to 14.2 with lights on all is well.

You cannot overload the dynamo. Its output varies with engine speed so its output at idle will be low increasing as rpm's go up.

This is why you cannot find a consistent spec for typical output.

25A is all I have ever seen in real world testing on a BX that turns the dynamo a little faster than some of the B series (BX's run at 3500 RPM give or take). There might be a pulley ratio difference-I dunno. Most of the time amp rating was not an issue. I think I can remember ONE instance where someone had 4011 lights on his tractor for whatever reason and with everything on the dynamo was too weak to charge. But the same thing happens with an alternator; however most of the little Denso alternators are 45A or more. Saw it sometimes with the RTV's, in particular the earlier 1100's.

I did alot of research on this when I got my B2650 6yrs ago. The dynamo is rated at 14.5 amps on the rops model. The cab model has an alternator and I believe it was around 50. I added 4 led lights to my tractor so did alot of testing to make sure the dynamo would work as I was looking at replacing it with an alternator. I was drawing 9-10amps with everything on, and the dynamo handles it fine. But as Dave said, You have to run the tractor a minimum of 1800rpms to get run the dynamo fast enough. So if I stop to warm, I leave the idle up, or turn the led lights off till I go back to work. It has worked fine this way for 6yrs and 1500 hrs.

I was told by the tech at my dealer the dynamo on the B2650 was 14AMP max output.

I wanted a nice fan for the ROPS canopy in the summer and the dynamo was not up to the whole load. I ended up doing the alternator conversion. The alternator is up to 40AMP.

Watch the voltage, that will tell you if there will be any issues.
