B2650 air filter grease

Just got a new air filter set and there is a packet of grease attached to it.

Says to use it to make the fit better. There are 2 photos with arrows, but still clear as to where is goes.

Anyone else greasing their air filters?

Sometimes I do, most times I don't. All depends in how tightly the element fits in the air cleaner housing. Th grease it to insure a leak free seal between the filter base and the air cleaner housing.

Me nope no grease, unless going to be working in very fine dusty situations.

Been my experience at least with my M9000 filter housings, that the elements fit tightly in the housings and the prevailing tension spring retainer clips keep the whole assembly very tight.
