54" or 60" loader bucket? Pros and cons. I have 50% clay dirt 50% soft dirt. I am going to put a piranha blade on whatever I get to scarf off the scotch brush.

I would say it would depend on the configured width of your tires first. if your setup measures 58" wide it wouldn't make much sense to go with the 54. that being said. if your setup rides within 54" the 54 will be a lighter bucket allowing better lifting capabilities. it will also allow better digging as the same force the tractor can produce is less spread out. downside, it won't hold as much raw materials in the bucket if weight is irrelevant. it's a trade off. I'd probably try to get the 60 though, the other things could be worked around and with.

I am with VAvenom - you tractor specs in at 53.7" (what a number!) I would think I would want to be able to slide up against something tight and use those 3" each side to allow the tires not to rub - also if you ever decide to get wheel spacers, you'll be glad you got the 60" bucket, just cause you have a BIGGER bucket, doesn't mean you have to fill it!:D:)

The more I think about it - the advantages for the 60 really outweigh the 54........there is a pun in there somewhere!:)

Pro's & Con's either way on 54 or 60", and those points have been made well.

What I will suggest is get SSQA over pin-on. Later down the road you may want to add forks or a grapple or..??.

It is much easier to have the versatility of SSQA to start with rather than have to convert which ever bucket you get later.

I was on the Kubota website the other day messing around and pricing out a Bxxxx. I'm actually in the market for the BX1870 or BX2370. When I got to the point asking me about loader attachments for the B, it mentioned the 60" was "light material". I'm not sure if that means anything important, but the wording is something I'd want to look into.

The only difference between the 54" or 60" is width, built exactly the same. The term light material comes from the lawyers ;). My dealer only sells the 60" he laughed and said either one can be overloaded its all in how it's used. That being said with either bucket I highly recommend filled rear tires and some weight on the 3 point (450-500 lbs) especially if your moving earth, firewood is another story.. My two cents...
