All,
I have a B26. The pinion bearing went out and trashed the diff and a few things in the range gearbox. I’ve completely gone through everything from the flywheel back. The hyd tank was full of bearings, filings, etc.
Of course, that tank and the drive train are now spotless. My question is - does the hydraulic filter system have the ability to bypass the filter? I know that the motor oil systems in a car will bypass when cold or the filter is plugged. I’m trying to determine how much of that trash made it past the filters and into the pump and related cylinders/steering. Theoretically it could be none (if no bypass) or a ton if they can bypass.
