I finally found a good picture of the control valve used on the B2401 tractor. The bolt I have a question about is the one that is in the lower right corner. I am wondering if it is a inlet port for the low pressure return? If someone can help me with that I would greatly appreciate it. If you can let me know what size and threads are on it and I will use it as my low pressure fluid return from the hydraulic control valve. Thanks

If you have this valve, why not just remove the plug and see what it is? From here it looks like an allen head pipe plug. Possibly 1/4"? Then stick a small screwdriver through the hole and see if it goes into the next passage where the fitting is installed. How hard can it be?

Well, I guess it depends on what you consider hard! The only thing your approach would do is let me know how large an area inside the bolt hole is BUT NOT the answer to my question, which was is it a chamber for the high pressure side or the low pressure side? So that is why I decided to do it the way I have chosen, to splice in a tee fitting and create a inlet port for the T hose from the valve to connect to. Thanks for your input

It is not a pjpe plug. Its an ORB plug.

Is your tractor gear or HST?

It’s a gear shift tractor! The bolt head is probably about at least a 19mm maybe even a bit larger, 21mm

I am confused. The B2401DT has a hydraulic outlet and return port in the side of ths transmission. Have you read the owners manual?
Well I believe you are correct! I just wanted to let you know that I have found it in the Owners manual, page 46, top right corner! I was believing that there had to be a better way than cutting into the return rubber hose! Now I have to figure out what the size and type thread the bolt is so I can purchase another fitting to connect the hose to it from the T port of the valve. Thanks so very much. If someone may know what the size and thread type for it please let me know.

Take the plug out and measure it. My guess is BSPP.

I have located the bolt on the tractor and it is at the location that the picture in the owner’s manual says, the only problem is the metal tube that they show in the picture underneath the bolt actually crosses over the top of the head of the bolt, which makes it maybe impossible to get the fitting into the port and if you could it would be very difficult to get a hose connected to the fitting. I just took a quick look at it but I will get under the tractor tomorrow and see what might be a possible solution, if not then I’ll just go ahead with my plan to cut the return rubber pipe and install the tee fitting for the return from the valve.

They make 90 degree fittings that are short, medium and long. You can also get hose ends in 90 degree short, medium and long. With a JIC end on the hose the fitting does not need to rotate.

Either or both may help. Also there are 45 degree fittings that can help snake around stuff.

Well, I believe that a banjo and banjo bolt could possibly work. I am sure that I could get a
little wiggle room to get the banjo to work so I will get the bolt out tomorrow and get a banjo and bolt ordered! Thanks to all for your input!

After spending well over an hour searching every site I could! I just couldn’t find all the fittings I needed to do the low pressure connection from the transmission bolt to the valve.
With using the banjo and bolt, I would need to have an adapter for the hose connection.
My hoses are 3/8” NPT ends, the banjo and bolt are metric, I believe 18mm x 3/8” male JIC
to make it work, I would need a female to female adapter, 3/8” female JIC to 3/8” female NPT
and I just can’t find one! So I guess I am again going back to my original plan to cut the return rubber pipe and splice in a metal 1/2” NPT tee and putting two barb fittings on each end and then splice in between the cut rubber then install a 3/8” reducer in the top portion of the Tee and then install the 3/8” NPT hose. NOT my preferred option but one that will work!

Why not just get a hydraulic shop to put a banjo end on the hose (assuming it’s long enough) or get a new hose with a banjo end?

end would be something like this (but I didn’t look for exactly what you need since I don’t know what you really need)
I believe I have found the banjo and bolt with the 3/8” female NPT fitting! I just need to confirm the size bolt I need for the transmission port! These fittings are so dog gone expensive. $45 for it with shipping cost. Just got to get it done!

Measure the fitting you took out of the transmission to get the size.

You would save a lot of money and effort using hoses with JIC female swivels and male JIC port adspter fittings.

Well Dan as they say hindsight is 20/20! I can’t go back now since I have used all the fittings and hoses! But maybe you could help me with my latest search, which I have not been able to find the correct Power Beyond adapter sleeve for my valve. I have reached out to the seller that I purchased it from but they don’t sell it, they did say they would contact the manufacturer to see if they could help me but have not heard back yet. I need a size that must be not used very often. It’s the following: 12 SAE male to 12 SAE female
Power Beyond sleeve, my valve is a 2 spool
21gpm single joystick, model JYP80-QT 2/1
If you know of a source for this type, please let me know. Thanks for your help
