I am absolutely brand new to the forum and am in need of help. My mother-in-law has a B2400HSD with very low hours on it.

I went up to help her bush hog a field and clear some rocks with the front end loader. For the first 15-20 minutes everything was good, but then the temp spiked pretty quickly. I shut the tractor down and waited for it to cool. I popped the radiator cap and noticed that the coolant was low. I filled the radiator back to full, closed the cap and restarted the engine. Temp looked great.

I got the field cut and as I was putting the tractor back up, I noticed that there was coolant all over the area around the brake pedals. Engine temp was about 3/4 of the way to hot. I shut the tractor down and waited for it to cool (again), popped the radiator cap and coolant was low again (duh).

It was dark so I could not find the source of the leak, I am going back up this weekend to try to trouble shoot, but I need some advice.

1. Does anyone have any idea where I should start looking?
2. Is this something that can be done without removing the front end loader?

Thanks for the help and for putting up with the new guy.

Buy a tin of Bars Leak.
About $5.
It plugged up a leak I had almost a month ago.

To find the leak:
-Remove the engine shroud to get a good look at the rad.
-Run the machine and check for drips around the rad hoses.

Good luck and keep us posted.
