Hello,
I am looking to put a bid on a used 1998 B2400 HST with loader and backhoe it has 301 hours and was kept outside looks to be in fair condition.
any help on what it's worth would be appreciated.

Also, learn more about the Kubota models that are similar to the 2400, then watch the local papers and craigslist for them. That will give you a good idea of what a tractor that size is running in your area.

Auctions themselves are the hardest to figure out a price on. Generally the seller has a smaller set amount in mind they will take on the low end of the scale and the prices goes up from there. Say it starts off around 8 thousand dollars as the bare minimum the prices can get insanely high depending on how bad somebody really wants it. Then you end up paying WAY to much for the tractor then its really worth.

Auctions can be good and they can be bad.
