B2400 Lift Pump Replaced with Electric Pump

I recently purchased a B2400 and, long story short, I'm convinced the lift pump is bad. I replaced it, and the new pump worked fine for about 4 hours, and now it failed again. The fuel filter has been replaced and air bled from the system. The tractor will run fine for about 5 minutes, and then loose almost all power. This is with the tank 1/2 full. If I fill the tank, then it works fine. Thus, I'm convinced it's the lift pump. Apparently the lift pumps are a common and frequent failure. I'm going to check the fuel camshaft to make sure it isn't worn down, but I'm tempted to replace the mechanical lift pump with an electric fuel pump. Has anyone ever done this and/or have suggestions on how to do this?

Check the inlet of the filer housing for obstructions.
Also check the outlet flow of the filter housing.

Where did you get the new lift pump? If its a china special off amazon they are hit and miss and may very likely got a bad one.

Sure there is no debris in the fuel tank obstructing the flow of fuel?

Same issue here... lift pumps are trash on kubota bx. I'm at 400hrs, 2nd lift pump shot yesterday. Problem is then get hot and then stop lifting... its not bad fuel or debris in tank...they are just bad pumps. They work at low...I mean LOW rpm but anything above 2500...they heat up within 20 min and stop all together. I battled one for about 8 months trying to never put above 2500 rpms, but then I can never use pto, and belly mower barely works. For $25 grand...this is a crap system.

gee, so far 1489 hrs on my 7 year old BX23S with original lift pump.
had 'debris' in tank once, removed tank, properly cleaned it, over 1000+hrs no issues.
also installed a 'mason jar coffee filter back then.
