I have an old B7100 and am in the process of refreshing it. I have a leaking cylinder and wondered if anyone knows of a source of replacement loader/boom cylinders. I gather they are 2" bore 18" stroke but the mountings look like they need a 1 7/8" bracket at each end because that's the frame width on the B219 FEL. I saw mention somewhere on this forum of a http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAXIM-288-3...8-In-Stroke-/221576559187?hash=item3396fdfa53 Maxim 288-314 cylinder but the ned brackets won't fit.

I bought a repair kit but thought I would use that on the cylinder I remove and use it as a spare.

Thanks!

ojaikubota, welcome to the forum.

As Kennyd4110 mentioned rebuilding will probably be less trouble. If you're mechanically inclined you can get the "kit" of rings and seals and do it yourself. If not mechanically inclined go to a local hydraulic repair shop with your cylinder and get a quote.

OP, Any more info on the Maxim Cylinder?
Just a follow up on this thread, I am trying to locate an aftermarket cylinder replacement as well. I do not know if I am using correct method to determine Stroke or not, but My B219 FEL cylinder rod length extended is 28-1/4". When closed, it is 17-1/4" (center of pin to center)
So does that mean it is an 11" stroke?
because the the Cylinder you posted link to above is 18"

So, would this Cylinder be closer to correct? http://www.baileyhydraulics.com/Maxim-3000-PSI-Welded-Crosstubes_11 ?
The only problem I see is the rod is 1.25 where as the rod on my B219 is 1.125? Also the tubes (on rod & barrel) would need to be cut shorter, to 1-7/8" to fit on Kubota FEL.
additionally, a spacer/shim/pipe could be used because Kubota Pins are 5/8" where as most of these Cylinders are for 1" pins
Can anybody help, that has successfully installed (modified?) an aftermarket Cylinder on their B219?
Thank you!

I ended up ordering 15" of 1-1/8" Chrome steel Rod from supplier in Texas http://www.alloysandcomponents.com/chromerod.htm
Cost about $30.00 shipped.. took it to machine shop in Everett WA (Guy runs out of his back yard) he charged me $100 labor to cut & duplicate the bent rod..
He even assembled it with seals for me and tested Cylinder ( I was planning on doing latter part myself)
Thanks for any help here... and thanks for a cool machine shop! Works great!
Cylinder/Hydraulic rebuild shops wanted like $300 minimum to do the same job.. I know they need to make a living.. but what can I say, this is a 80s Garden tractor.. I can not afford to spend $300+ for every cylinder rebuild.
