First, I should say I am really happy with my manual 1979 B7100D with FEL. But, I have seen a 1991 B2150 that has caught my eye. HST, power steering, 24 vs 16 hp and FEL. Am I nuts or is their a logical reason I should pass my B7100 down to my son and go for the B2150? Help me make this decision.

How much do you use the FEL? Are you finding that you need more power? Can you transfer the loader to the 2150?
Is it a want, or a need? The 2150 is a fine tractor, would be a little heavier, and the extra power and power steering would be nice, especially if you put the loader on it.
But, if those considerations aren't what's driving you, then you will need to decide if it is justified. Of course, passing a Kubota down to your son is awful good justification. I would, if I could.

Hodge, the B2150 has an FEL, so I wouldn't have to worry about that. I probably use the FEL more than anything I have for the tractor.

I could use more HP, especially at the PTO. I have a Goossen 3 point hitch chipper shredder that needs more HP.

On the other hand, the weight can be a problem. It probably weighs around 2000 lbs and I would have to get or borrow a heavier trailer. I have never had my B7100 on my trailer since I got it 2 1/2 years ago, so that probably isn't really a problem.

I didn't mention that it has a set of rear remotes that would also be handy. Am I talking myself into this???? Does anyone know of any quirks about the B2150 I should check?

I made the deal, but won't be able to pick it up until the 25th. It is in Illinois, about 11-12 hours away. I had surgery Dec 7 at Johns Hopkins on my left thigh to remove a sarcoma (cancerous tumor) about the size of a 1 lb tube of sausage! The surgeon had to cut completely though one of my quad muscles to get all of the cancer cells. I am in my 6th week of recovery with a 12 inch incision on my inner thigh and am not suppose to travel until after the 18th, but that didn't keep me from buying a tractor. I am just now driving and getting down into my shop. I was surprised how run down your condition can get by sitting on your can for 5 weeks. But, I am cancer free and no need for chemo, thank the Lord!

Here is a picture of my new-to-me machine. It has 675 hrs and new paint on the FEL and fenders. It isn't a garage queen, but will handle all of my needs. I plan to either refurbish the hood dents or see if I can find another one.

Well done that man, that looks like a nice bit of kit, a proper tool;):D.
I did the same as yourself, but i kept my B7100 and sold the B6000, not becuase the B6000 was no use, i just found myself doing bigger and bigger projects around the place and needed the extra capacity from a larger machine. the 7100 is great but sometimes its alla bout weight and size over just the compact side of things.
I moved upto a B8200, which is prettywell the same machine as your 2150 just a few horses down, but its surpising the diff between the 7100 and the 8200, such a beeefeir machine.
anyway good luck with it.:D

Congratulations on both, 300. That is GREAT to hear about the tumor. Probably everybody on this forum can think for a minute about their friends, and come up with quite a few who are dealing with cancer. Many times, the story isn't nearly as positive. I sincerely hope that you will stay cancer free, and can enjoy that beautiful piece of machinery for many years!
