I have only bought 1 US tractor in my life and it wasn't a BX so some of this is guessing what motor your tractor came with. I ain't 'merican. Depends on where you got your tractor from (what country) it would likely be one of the following I would suspect.

here are the HP/torque and fuel consumption charts.
Torque on the engine very flat. (50-55 through the rpm band)
take a look at the fuel curve many are surprised.

hope it helps
cheers

for the tier 2 D905-E2B (3600 rpm)

Thanks guys/gals. I was looking for BX23s engine specs, didnt think to look for engine model and then look for the model specs. Now that I looked for engine model specs, I found it all. Sometimes the ol brain is stuck in work mode at work, lol.

Well, looks like I have been working her HARD in the right spot. I run her at 2600rpm when I am beating her and 2300rpm when backhoeing. Looks like I should just keep her at 2600rpm all the time? She is not really on a load with the backhoe and would burn less gas.

If I did the math right, the fuel consumption for the B2301 would be 1.3 gph, and B2601 be 1.4. Way too high. My JDs ran about 0.6 gph at these hp levels. Present first fill at 2 gallons on B2601 is 0.35 gph.

Not correct for B2601 under load. Again, you'll get 5-7 hours per tank working a B2601, please stop posting that a B2601 will get 14 hours out of a tank :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

put your B2601 to work and you will see
lastly, I believe peak torque is somewhere in the neighborhood of 22-2300 RPM on D1105, the chart is on kubotas website under their engine section.

How are you measuring WHAT it takes ?
Depending on the size and shape of the tank a 1/8" difference can be a lot of fuel.
If you really, really want to know 'flow', install a 'flowgauge', either off the shelf or build your own.
Place between primary filter and the fuel pump.

BTW, those hours are not accurate. 9.1 could be 9.0 or 9.1, 5.7 could be 5.6 or 5.8. It's a 'digital' thing,so you could have used 9.0-5.8 or 9.1-5.6... or 2 other combinations....

I just record in a book the amount I put in. When it will take all the 2 gallons, I put it in the book with the hours. Sometimes, it may not be full. Been doing this for years in all the vehicles. All of them have books.

There's a line on both the 2 gallon and 5 gallon containers that I use that I fill them to. Of course, it's easy to tell when they're empty. Not rocket science.

yeah , top up tank method... works if you only use THAT jug on THAT tractor.....
I share jugs between tractor and forklift..they both seem to be thirty at the same time...:)
