Every 50 hrs my manual states to torque the wheel lugs (Front 108 lbs-ft Rear 166 lbs-ft) and the loader to frame bolts (166 lbs-ft). My torque wrench only goes to 75 lbs-ft so what are you guys doing to check them without buying a really expensive torque wrench that goes that high? Just use a socket and ratchet and check to see if they are tight?

I didn't have a torque wrench either, I tightened the bolts just like I would changing a tire on my truck.

I just went check them with a socket/ratchet and found a couple that were a little loose and snugged them up but I doubt I came close to 166 lb/ft. Thinking about giving them a couple light taps with the impact wrench.

I don't have either, and asked Kubota dealer tech to do for me since my max strength is probably about 2 ft lbs, and they just do it by feel, no fancy equipment. Fairly young sturdy guys.

For 166 ftlbs I would just put all my 166 lbs at 1 ft from the socket on my breaker bar. You could move in or out on the breaker bar depending your weight.

I gave it all I had with a standard 1/2" ratchet. I may still hit them a little with the impact just for piece of mind. Thats probably all they did at the dealer when they installed the loader anyway.

On last question before I start my service tomorrow. I will use the shop vac trick to replace the hydraulic filter, does it matter how big of a shop vac you use? I have a 3.5 hp shop vac so would anyone think that was too big verses using a 1 hp one.

Thats what I used, loosened the filter then turned the vac on and quickly swapped filters.

Thanks, that's my plan. Loosen the filter until it starts flowing then turn the vacuum on and swap it out.

You can invest in a torque multiplier that will be able to get to higher torque outputs than the input torque.

Helps get things loose when you can't even begin to budge the fasteners

That would be a 3' foot pipe slipped over the ratchet handle.;)
