So the manual for my MX4800 only ever says to check the primary air filter but never to replace it. That seems hokey to me and it only says check it every 100 hrs but after a few hours of mowing or pulling a harrow in dusty conditions it'll be pretty filthy. What service intervals do yall use for air filters?

Edit: I see now where it says change once a year now.

My BX manual is a little contradictory. The maintenance schedule chart says clean every 50 hours (blow dust out or use soap & water for carbon build up) and replace every year after 700 hours. The text says, "Replace yearly or after every sixth cleaning"

In dusty conditions, it's a good idea to check the outer filter daily. The internal filter will only get dirty in the event of the outer filter having failed. If you keep up with the outer filter, you may never have to replace the inner.
