Been using the forks alot lately. Because the hood is in the way. I have a hard time seeing well enough to position the forks in or under the pallets without multiple attempts. Have to stand up or sometimes even get out of the cab to check. It helps if the load is stacked high enough to see the forks. Anyone have any tricks or tips? Anyone use a camera? Thanks.

I ordered the camera from Amazon and the bracket from Paul & Kathy. I plan on using the forks a lot on my new L and don't want to be poking holes in my product. My fabrication skills are 0 for this kind of thing and I've bought from them before and was pleased with their parts.

Interested to hear what others have to say.

For me, I stand up just long enough to get the forks in/out. My L will creep in low range without shutting down so if it’s just one or two, I’ll creep it while standing. If it’s more than a couple, I temporarily disable the seat switch by holding it down with a piece of wooden paint stir stick binder clipped to a bracket for something or other that’s so convenient it almost seems designed for that purpose.

I have no problem with fine control of the treadle pedal while standing. Still usually keep it in low range while standing.

I have a wireless camera that is mounted on a strong magnet and is powered by a Dewalt 12v battery mounted on another strong magnet. The camera displays on a monitor in the cab. When using forks I place the camera and battery on the fork frame looking at the forks. When using my 3 point stump grinder I stick the camera on the frame of the grinder showing the wheel/stump. The monitor is multi channel and there are two other cameras, one mounted high on the back of the cab as a backup camera and one mounted just above the 3 point to aid in lining up implements.

I use a backup camera when I use my tree sheer. I had the same problem with vision.

Paint the fork tips. I stand up as well to see better. One of the reasons I "modified" the seat switch.

Safety orange or Kubota orange? Lol. Great tip, thank you.

I attached an piece of angle across the brush guard of the sheer, bought a small 12 volt battery and put it in a box and clamped it to the angle. The camera is held in place by a magnet. Monitor is held in place by suction cup base that came with the camera.

Can't stand up in my cab to see the tips of the forks so I too had to buy a backup camera. Magnetic mount so it sticks to the frame of the forks, and an 8" monitor mounted on the Kubota's dash. Helps a lot - but takes some practice to use.

Couple items:

1. I am particular where I drop my stuff. (I have very hilly property at my residence and moderate hilliness at properties 2 and 3)

2. B is easy as I have good visibility but I watch levelness of the forks on approach. Good visibility no challenge.

MX is a bit of different animal as the front tires are fairly large and eliminate most visibility. So with it. I gauge level and height (stand up) before getting close and then adjust if I bump the pallet (slow as possible and as fast as necessary…big girl sort of driving blind…so important to get forks at right position for smooth entrance to a pallet)

3. If alignment not right, stop, backup adjust and try again.

4. If still no worker, then intake dads advise and put some hair around it. 😉

generally speaking, especially for MX where I park/drop pallets is the most important thing which makes 2 much easier and reduces 3 and 4.
(same process with implements…number 1 is most important.)

What kind of cameras are you guys using ? I have made videos with my Panasonic DMC-ZS100 mounted on the ROPS while doing grapple work or snow plowing and the vibration makes the videos barely viewable.

gg
I use this camera/monitor:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FM58K2W?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

I power the wireless camera that I move to different implements (pallet forks, stump grinder) with this adapter for Dewalt 12v batteries:

The camera and battery are mounted on strong magnets like these:
