Advice about trading my B2920 for a B2650 Cab

Looking for advice. I have a B2920 that is 5 years old, I love it and have never had a problem with it. Now I want a cab to make the winters a bit easier. I am considering getting a Curtis aftermarket cab, however, now I'm looking at a B2650 with a factory cab. Yes, the factory cab is nicer, has heat/AC, is going to be quieter and cost me more than the Curtis cab. Waiting on the dealer to get back to me with the financials....

Looking for your thoughts on trading in my B2920 with a FEL and MMM for a B2650 with a factory cab, FEL, MMM. I know it will have a little less HP, but I use it mainly for mowing, snow removal and some yard work.

All advice and comments are greatly appreciated.

I came within a few hours of buying a B2920, but it lacked a lot of the features important to me, position control, extendable 3PH arms etc., the B26/3350 have all that plus an integrated cab, much improved over earlier models. I no longer have a need for a B Series tractor, but if I did, it would be the B25/3350. I run two cab tractors and you just can't beat the OEM cab for year around comfort.

b12, I believe you are confusing the old BXxx50 Series with the new Bxx50; the 50 designation sure can be confusing.

I think the little less HP will not be as noticeable as a nice heated CAB, nice cooled CAB:)!!!

Personally I would not trade it in - I would sell it on a local network - craigslist, ebay or local newspaper, you will be money ahead - now if you do your homework and find that the dealer is giving you something else in return and the bottom line is only a couple hundred then trade it in, otherwise, sell it outright, (Yeah I know it is a PITA - but worth it !:D:))

My self I guess Im cheap, I would keep the old gal get a cab for her and outfit it like you want, I figure its paid for and the trade in is not going to be as much as you might hope for. And I figure you will be looking close to 26 k maybe more for a new one

Folks, This is a decision that I'm sure will be decided by the financials that I get back from the dealer. I have to admit that I do like the idea of the factory cab, however I also like the idea that my B2920 is paid for.

85Hokie, Thank You for your opinion of the loss of HP B2920, that was a concern of mine.

Looking forward to seeing more thoughts. . .

i had a jd2305 w/curtis cab for the past 6 years and a month ago decided to move up. i was looking at the b2620 and 2920, and really liked them. but after pricing the factory cab vs adding the curtis, like 85 okie said, less hp is less noticeable than a comfortable cab. so i decided on the 2650 hsdc. it was nice having the curtis cab, but canvas wears and fades over time. and the factory cab has much better visibility. we had ~8' of snow this past winter. so i'm really looking forward to next winter with really good heat, defog, a nice radio and more comfort.

i like being outside, and am used to taking the doors off in the summer, so i'm a little concerned about being under a magnifying lens in the cab over the summer. but the a/c should keep it cool. i'm coming from less hp, so i can't help you with the downgrade re: hp. however so far it seems to have plenty of hp for the digging i've done.

good luck with your decision

Offshore31, Thank you for your insight, glad to hear the factory cab made the winter easier for you. which is what I'm looking for. Your comment about the cab in the summer was also another concern I have, but agree that the AC should help with that.
