Hey guys and gals

What parts do I need to add more rear remotes to a L5740 cab model?
I want to have a top and tilt kit. I will be running a box scraper, 6 way blade mostly
and for running chute/ deflector controls for a front mounted snow blower

also Can I add a front 3rd valve function for the front end loader?

Do you already have rear remotes and want more or are you starting from scratch?

Yes you can add a third function to the loader.

Factory kits will be quite pricey - probably north of $4K.

Hi Dan

I have one set of rear remotes right now
(2 ports)

What are the aftermarket Alternatives because that's way too much for me to spend?

For factory rear remotes you would need two more valves and the associated lever/coupler kits:

L8347 - second lever and coupler kit ($350)
L8348 - third lever and coupler kit ($350)
L8308 - valve - 4 way ($295)
L8309 - valve - 4 way with float ($370)

Prices are from Messicks and not as bad as I expected - $1440 to add two more valves with float.

Need to know the loader model to lookup the factory 3rd function kit.

Hi Dan

Thank you, you're a huge resource of help

It has a 854 loader

What companies are suppliers of aftermarket remotes ?

Aftermarket remotes are not going to mount nearly as easily as the factory kits. You could probably roll your own for half of factory.

The factory third function kit for the LA854 and a cab tractor (L2227) looks to be $1000+. Aftermarket not a whole lot less. Here is one for a LA525 - I am sure you could make it work with a bit of work and a bit more cash. You would have to adapt the wiring to the in cab joystick on your tractor.

I have the factory 3rd function valve on my L4240. It's nice because it has steel lines mounted in the clamps on the loader, nice and neat. I really like it.

I actually paid the dealer to install it. I bought in (about 3 years ago) and had to wait 4 or 6 months to get it in. I got it in a box about 6'x2'x2' and wondered what all was in THAT box! Well, it was the steel lines taking up the space. I then looked at what it would take to get it hooked up. Decided I'd take the box and the tractor over to the dealer and let them do it. Glad I did!

My point is, on the Lxx40 series tractors installing the 3rd function is a tad more complicated then most tractors. To get to the hyd. connections the right rear wheel comes off, you loose some fluid, etc. Be aware.

Cab models usually mean either factory rear remotes or electric valves of some type.
Either diverters supplied by your existing rear remote or electric valves equaling open or closed, no actual feathering.
Any hydraulics on the 6 way blade?
An all hydraulic rear blade with gauge wheels and the T&T set and you would need 6 sets of ports.
How many sets do you actually need?

With the loader 3rd function, rear remotes and T&T, I would say that you are in the $3000 range and that's with you doing the labor and shopping around.

Good luck. :)

The w,/g is shorthand for Whole Goods part number. Whole goods are the options packages that the dealers order and install. They are not indivilual parts but rarher a kit containing multiple parts. To add a valve you need more than just the valve itself. You typically need the base kit, a handle kit, and an outlet kit as well as the valve itself.
