78-79 Fordman, after I bought my Kubota I wanted a cab and I ordered a Curtis cab from the dealer to fit my tractor, did you try them? Its a nice cap, lots of window to see out.

I'd be to leary of nasty chemicals getting into that particualr cab. Doesn't seem like its too air/water tight. Just enought to keep some of the elements off. I'd check into Sims or Curtis cabs.

Fordman,
Looks like a decent cab at a decent price!!. Plus it looks like it would be easy to remove on those Hot days in Az when You,re not in the Orchard.

No haven't checked a Curtis cab . This was the only on I had seen on the net that was for a m7040 . But I will check .

I have seen the one I post being used on a narrow kubota in a orchard in California . In a video . But the driver was still ware'n a chemical suit and respirator . But thought it would have to be better that not having one .

But ya that's why I posted because I knew all mite know of one I couldn't find .

I don't think I'd want to be in that soft side cab spraying chemicals. It may not be chemical resistant and could deteriorate.

It looks like my only option other than not using one at all .

Looks to be the only cab that's for a m7040 .

Other than trying to trade this tractor for a cab one that I'm not sure I could pay the payments on and would lose money in the trade .

So a $1300 vinyl cab looks like the only option .

If you have access to the equipment you could build one. Several of us have gone that route. I went that way mostly because of the height restrictions of my shed and garage doors. Except for some sheets of heavy plastic below the windshield that are trimmed around hydraulic lines and the lower hood mine is all steel and safety glass, made in sections and equipped with heater and wiper for around $1,200 and 150 hours labor.

I am not familiar with the engine layout of the M7040, but many Kubota's have reverse air flow (pulls cooling air from the cab area and pushes hot air forward out the front grille). When you install a cab this results air getting sucked in at all of the sealing edges. At least is does on my BX.

Anyway you should check that out on yours. You could end up sitting in a chemical bath...

Glad you mentioned getting a cab. I have asbestosis and have sometimes severe breathing problems. After paying the dealer the little woman (bless her little heart) suddenly and out of no where says "why don't you get a cab??. Completely took me by suprise. Well after paying for the L3800 and the woods bush hog there wasn't much left except to buy some chinese food for supper.Frank

Save your money and get a tractor with a factory cab.My son uses a JD outfitted with a Curtis($5000) cab and it's drafty, cold in winter and no air in the summer.NO way would I be spraying without an air tight cab.

I had thought about adding a cab. But thought I would try one winter without it . Pick my days using the tractor. Bucket snow on nicer days. And I have survived so far. Only a couple times unloading trucks and it was snowing. So overall. I'm glad I didn't buy a cab. I get into several doorways with my rops down and with a cab...no way I could fit.
