Accessory rear - no power?

I have read multiple threads on this but I can't figure this out. I have a kubota bx2360. I found the power and ground wrapped up inside tape on the rear left of The tractor. I checked for power with a meter and it was there. I literally pulled the tractor out of the garage and back in. The next day I hooked up my led spotlights and no power. Fuse is good and power to the fuse. I don't have continuity from other side of fuse to the red wire in the rear. I did nothing but move the tractor! I can't figure out what I'm missing here.

Thanks yes I have the key turned on when trying. This just doesn't make sense. The only thing that makes sense is a continuity issue between fuse and plug in rear. BUT I just had power. Keep in mind this tractor is only 3 years old which makes it even more odd.

Are you checking for power at the connection to the tractor wiring or at your lights? Any chance the connection to the tractor wiring is loose?

Yes I checked for power at the plug in the rear (that was taped up). There was power now there isn't. I checked at the fuse also and there is power (pulled out fuse). Fuse was checked and good. I don't know if there is something (maybe another connection) in between?

Since it was not fully installed maybe Kubota did not install the fuse:confused:

that is odd to say the least, anyway to trace the GROUND wire? I would do a continuity test there too. Not sure that is the problem.

SO - to repeat what you tested, took lead from fuse side (fuse out) and to the wire itself? Nothing? test the other side of fuse terminal? - sometimes it is hard to determine which side of fuse holder is hot all the time and which runs to the circuits. Test all of that again.....report back.

be sure to set your DVOM to "volts" for checking for 12V power, and "Ohms" for checking continuity.

Test the (12V) connector/wire at the back of the tractor for voltage with the meter's negative lead on the battery's negative post. If you have power at the wire now, test the ground the same way - but reverse connections (positive meter lead on battery positive post and negative lead to ground wire/connector at back of tractor).

Sounds obvious, but sometimes it's the simple things that trick us.

I switched my rear tailamp bulbs from incandescent to LED, and found that they had wired them wrong. They worked fine with regular bulb, but LED's would not work! After checking polarity, I found that they had run the positve lead to the ground side of bulb holder and ground to the center post. Since these tail lamps are in a plastic housing, the reversed ground didn't blow any fuses as it would have had it been a common ground with chassis. I reversed the wires at connecting plug and that allowed the LED lamps to work correctly.

As even I suspected obvious issue. So I have read a ton of articles on the taped up accessory wires at the rear of the bx. When I checked my fuse I checked the ACC fuse thinking accessory as described in many forums. Well this taped up plug was going to the fuse labeled work light. My mind was stuck on accessory light and not really thinking the rear accessory wire was specifically called out by kubota as work light. I'll take the blame for this one! Thank you all for trying to help.
