Ordered a LX3310 and the salesman asked if I wanted the 60" bucket rather then the 54" bucket. He said the 60" bucket is made from the same material as the 54" bucket but is called a light duty bucket because if you fully load it, the tractor might not be able to raise it. Did anyone else go with the 60" bucket and are you happy with it?

If it is wider than the tractor footprint then stick with the smaller one. I got convinced to go with the 60 inch bucket and I can't tell you how many times I have run into things with the wider bucket.
Sorry, I misspoke. I have the 72 inch bucket rather than the 60 inch it is supposed to have. At any rate, if it is wider than the tractor keep that in mind when maneuvering around things.

I have the same on order. With the wheel spacers and the R14 tires it ends up being 58"wide and I wanted the bucket to cover the full width of the tractor. My dealers said most do the same and they haven't had any complaints.
I just recently purchased a L2501 and it came with what was supposed to be a 60" bucket. The bucket's inside measurement is actually 65-1/4". I found that out when I went to order a Bxpanded piranha tooth bar. I love the bucket, wouldn't want anything less.

Get the 60". Your tractor will lift a full bucket of anything. There is no difference in build between the two, but the 60 will definitely hold more volume.

Long story, but I have a 60" pin on and a 54" ssqa bucket for my 2650. You will appreciate the extra width of the 60 for sure. My 2650 has no issues with a full 60" bucket of gravel. It all comes down to ballast on the back and using your head when lifting things. I got the 60 to use from my dealer because the ssqa mount was on backorder earlier this year. I ordered the tractor with the quick attach 54, but due to the delays on everything, the dealer couldn't give me an answer as to when everything would be in. I used the 60 to move over 100 yards of topsoil and 35 yards of gravel. It had no issues. I ended up buying the 60 pin on for $250 from the dealer when all of the stuff finally came in to set up the quick attach. Now that the ssqa setup is on, I love the ease of changing between bucket and forks, but really miss the wider bucket. I can obviously still put on the 60, but I loose the quick attach feature. I was in a unique situation, but I did get to use both sizes back to back on the same machine and can give you actual real world feedback.
I opted for the 54" and have wished I went with the 60" from day one. More volume would be nice. I've not found anything heavy enough yet that I couldn't easily lift a full bucket of.

I went with the 54" ssqa when given the option mainly because one of the main jobs was, and still is, tight space maneuvering; more important than volume of bucket. Barn cleaning, forest and bush maneuvering, its been great. If sometimes I have to move volumes of material I also have the option of hooking up my 5x8 steel dumper trailer that can carry a lot of scoops from the loader. I like that the bucket is the same width as my tractor tires.

I doubt it. I've always read and been told, as someone else stated, that they just call it light duty because they're implying if you were to load it all the way up with a heavy material, it may be too much for the tractor or cause stability issues.
That said, I've had my 60" "light duty" bucket on the B2650 filled to the brim with limestone and didn't have any issues. The backhoe is pretty substantial ballast though.
I agree with this. I put an 8 ft bucket on my (7' wide) 3020. I bumped into lots of stuff, and I would have been better served by the 7 foot bucket.
My initial thought was "bigger is better" and if I needed to dig a path through deep snow I could drive the tractor through the gap I cut.
