I bought a new L2501 last year. Just now hitting 50 hours (48.4 right now). We are in the middle of building a house, and getting lawn and septic field graded and seeded.... I really need to get done this week during a break in the rain. I know that being springtime, that the local Kubota place will be slow getting around to servicing it, I am sure that there is a wait, so I need to get it in between tasks for service.

How far past 50 hours do y'all think I am safe to go, without causing a warranty problem in the future because I went to 55 hours or however many hours, rather than service on the dot at 50 or earlier???

Thanks

I don’t know how much past 50 hrs is safe but why don’t you just do it yourself? I did the 50 hr service on my L4701 and it only took about an hour or so to complete and was very easy.

Normally, I would....but being in the middle of building a new house and shop on 15 acres, even an hours worth of time is valuable. Every couple or three weeks I have to take it to town to do some work at mom's house, which is only about 5 blocks from the Kubota dealer, so transport is no issue, can just drive it over and leave it.

If not convenient to do yourself, 10 to 20 hrs over 50 will not be the end of the world.

I totally understand that, I am currently building a camp on 68 acres 2-1/2 hrs from home along with working to improve the habitat there. Start at daylight and work till dark every day there, just completed the electrical and powered it up so I can work on the inside at night on the interior walls lol.

That is an interesting question. Anybody know what the leeway is pertaining to the warranty? I did mine under 50 and marked the filters, but if you do it yourself how would Kubota know when you did the service?

Keep your receipts and start a log book. I would hazard a guess that the law that applies to autos applies to all 'vehicles.' It more or less states manufacturers can't force you into delaership's for maintenance work.

Can you make a appointment with the Dealer to get it done quick?
Just stopped by and talked with service manager today. Spring rush hasn't hit them yet....if I can get it there one morning, they'll have it done same day.
